Reflection
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology coaching and technology leadership from completing this field
experience?

In this field experience, I was building a classroom webpage to use with my class next year. I teach first grade and with the way ended last year, I knew I
need to have my upcoming first graders prepared to know how to use Canvas. I thought of the idea of having first grade homework and classroom
information that is typically given out at open house posted on Canvas. After learning how to set up Canvas for my classroom, I am now going to help my
other teammates set theirs up. I feel this will give me coaching training on walking them through each step.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs,
enthusiasm) required of a technology facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected above. Use the language of the PSC
standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and dispositions.)

Knowledge – The goal of this class was to practice being a technology coach. feel that I mastered this goal by providing feedback to teachers and creating
my own class website that I will share out with my team. We will be moving to online learning for homework and it was important to have information that
students need all in one location. The ISTE standard 3b: Manage the use of technology and student learning strategies in digital platforms, was met by my
creation of the class webpage. I will manage the webpage throughout the year.

Skills -A skill that I needed to know at the end of this class was, to manage digital platforms and create digital platforms. I was able to research instersting
tools to implement into my homeroom class webpage. This field experience helped me to meet the ISTE standard 4A, because I plan on sharing out with
teammates.

Dispositions – I believe that teachers need to continue professional learning, especially with technology. I researched class webpages and how the best
format would be for younger students. I am glad I had the opportunity to put into practice what I will be using next year!

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your school. How can the impact be
assessed?

One of our school improvement goals at Dugan Elementary is to implement more technology into the classrooms. With creating a homepage students can
easily access whatever I have posted for them to complete for the day. Also, adding homework online gives the parents a chance to become familiar with
what students are doing in the classroom. Involving parents into student’s curriculum is also a part of our school improvement plan. I feel that helping the
students become aware of the Canvas program at an early age will help them when reaching the upper grades and if we have to switch back to digital
learning at any point this year.
