I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

a. Identify the basic features of a paragraph and its different types;
b. Exemplify the importance of good communication through
paragraph writing and;
c. create a well-written and effective paragraph.

a) Greeting
“Good morning everyone” (The students rise and greet)

C. Presentation of the Lesson

“Now that we are through with our discussion, let

“The 4 basic features of a paragraph are Unity,
Completeness, Coherence, and

A. Identify what kind of paragraph is being described or used in some topic sentences
below:
1. My mother is always wearing her bright and beautiful smile.
2. I won first place on the Essay Writing contest yesterday.
3. In this paragraph, the author writes about what a person likes, dislikes, favorite
stuffs, etc.
4. It is used to tell a story.
5. The goal of this paragraph is to convince someone to do something.
6. It is used to present information or ideas.

 No grammatical errors, spelling and punctuation 2 pts.

VI. Assignment
Choose what kind of paragraph you want to use and do a paragraph with your
own topic too. Remind yourselves the parts of a paragraph and the basic features
to create a well-written paragraph.
Rubric (20 points)

 There is one specific, well-focused topic.
Main ideas are clear and have supporting details… 5 pts.
 The information is relevant and presented in
Logical order… 5 pts.
 Uses vivid words and phrases. Its accurate and natural… 5 pts.
