Chapter 1 – Activities

I. Write one of your engagement or encounters with art. Explain your answer why such an
encounter with art leads to aesthetic significance and experience with art.
- My first encounter in the arts is like blessing that open new things in my life that can
change my whole life. Encountering arts can lead people to make art as their habit
and how they can express their feelings.

1. What is your definition of art? Art appreciation?
- Art is something that is created with imagination and skill and that is beautiful. Art
appreciation referred to the knowledge of the general and everlasting qualities that
classify all great art.
2. Why is art universal/cultural?
- Because art is a reflection of people and their social context. Because of art different
countries can create cultural program using arts.
3. Why is art not nature?
- Because art is man-made construct.
4. Why does art involve experience?
- Other than the creativity and imagination capabilities of an individual, in order for
you to actually maximize your talent and skill and with the thought of sharing it with
