PHILOSOPHY
The PHILIPPINE COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY is

MISSION STATEMENT
PHILIPPINE COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY provides
quality education to every student through a well-balanced
research oriented learning environment that develops critical and
creative thinking for maximum development of individual’s
talents and capabilities.
INSTITUTIONAL OBJECTIVES
In pursuit of its Vision and Mission, PHILIPPINE COLLEGE OF
SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY will achieve the following:
1. Provide programs and activities that will enhance the
development of the students physically, intellectually,
culturally, emotionally, socially, spiritually and morally.
2. Provide college education opportunities to poor but
deserving students through the PHILIPPINE COLLEGE OF
SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY scholarship grants.

To provide the country with globally competitive and
professionally licensed graduates as integral part of the total
manpower needed for the economic development in the national
and international levels.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES
To produce globally competitive Computer Science and
Information Technology graduates with quality professional skills
and competencies that are imbued with high moral character in
the practice of the profession within national and international
standards.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
The above goal will be achieved through the following specific
objectives:
1. To enhance the training of the students on the theoretical
skills in computer science and information technology.
2. To provide the students with adequate knowledge and
technical skills in the conduct of research oriented
application of theories and principles in dealing with
laboratory problems and exercises, computer system and
design, program software and projects.
3. To equip students with social awareness and concern with
a high sense of responsibility in the conduct of research
and adoption of current and new technology to render
quality services.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES
A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science graduates of PhilCST
should be able to:
1. Apply knowledge of computing and mathematics
appropriate to the discipline

appropriate to its solution
3. Design, implement, and evaluate a computer-based
system, process, component, or program to meet desired
needs

PART I- INTRODUCTION
Rationale
Objectives
Generally, the objective of this On-the-Job Training (OJT)
Manual is to provide guidelines for the College of Computer
Studies of Philippine College of Science and Technology and
Cooperating Agencies on how to go about the ITE students’ OJT.
Definition of Terms
Course Description:
This course deals with the application of knowledge, skills,
attitude and values in the workplace. It covers the theories
Course Objectives:
The main objective of this course is to apply the
knowledge, skills, attitudes and values in the corporate
environment.
Course Requirements:
1. Performance Evaluation Form. An assessment
instrument accomplished by the industry OJT
supervisor regarding the performance of the trainee.

PART IV – GUIDELINES
Agreement
1. An agreement may be in a form of a memorandum
of agreement (MOA), memorandum of
understanding (MOU), or a contract of agreement
(COA), whichever is most preferred by both parties.

Deployment
1. Philippine College of Science and Technology is responsible
in deploying the OJT trainees.
Visitation
1. The OJT Coordinator visits the Trainee at least twice (one
is announced visit and one is unannounced visit). Upon

Evaluation
The Trainee should be evaluated by both the OJT
Coordinator and Industry Supervisor. The final grade will be based
on 50% of the former and 50% of the latter’s rating.

Memorandum of Agreement (Sample)
Whereas, the Cooperating Agency has all the first class services,
which are under the Management of professionally competent Managers, and
staff who can provide the training needed by the Computer Studies students;

MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS
Any dispute which may arise as to the obligations of either party under
this agreement of the interpretation of any provision shall be settled first
mutually between the parties and if it is not obtained, shall be sought in Court of
Law.
