Directions: You are one of the Volunteer Tutors on the Brigada Pagbasa program in your
high school alma mater. This program of your alma mater focuses on the development of
reading comprehension of students who can read but has the difficulty in understanding
what they are reading. The Volunteer Tutors are assigned to selected students to help
them develop their reading comprehension skills. The topic for your next session as a
volunteer tutor is about using textual aids like tables, graphs, and maps in understanding
the text. In order for your tutees to fully understand the lesson, you need to present a
sample of accomplished textual aid based on the news article titled COVID- 19 vaccine
doses delivered to PH written by Rappler. You come up with this reading text because it is
timely and relevant during this pandemic situation. Your sample must show the appropriate

GOAL: The goal is to present a sample of accomplished textual aid to the participants of
Brigada Pagbasa to help them understand the lesson for your next session.

COVID-19 vaccine doses delivered to PH

There have been 86 batches of vaccines from seven manufacturers


delivered to the Philippines so far.

Twenty- nine of them were from China’s Sinovac, the first of which arrived on
February 28. So far, a total of 41.5 million Sinovac vaccine doses have been
delivered to the Philippines. The first two sets were donations, while the rest were
procured by the national and local governments, as well as the private sector.

A combined 19, 840, 860 Pfizer vaccine doses came in 22 batches, the first
of which arrived on May 10. The batches were a mix of government purchases,
doses from the global COVAX facility, and donations of the United States through
COVAX.

Twelve batches contained a combined 10, 256, 540 AstraZeneca vaccine


doses. The first set was delivered to the country on March 4. Four batches were
from COVAX, six were procured by either or both the government and private
sector; while the rest were donated by Japan and the United Kingdom.

Nine sets of Moderna vaccine doses totaling around 9.99 million have been
delivered since June 27. These include over 2.25 million doses for the private
sector and 3 million doses donated by the United States on August 3.

Two batches of Johnson & Johnson vaccines amounting to 3, 240, 850


doses were donated by the United States. The first batch arrived in the country on
July 16 followed by another one the day after.

The first dose of Sinopharm doses totaling 100, 000 arrived on August 11.
The United Arab Emirates donated these doses. China also donated 1 million
Sinopharm doses which came in two batches.

Nine batches of Sputnik V vaccine doses totaling 570, 000 purchased from
Russia have also arrived, with the first received on May 1.
