RECOMMENDATION LETTER

This letter recommends Mr. Mohamad Handi Khalifah, in connection with the opening of the
Türkiyeburslari Scholarship 2019, hereby informing you that Mr. Handi wants to apply for a
Doctoral program (P.hD) for Universities in Turkey.

During the last 3 years, I have noticed the development of good performance towards him. He
has an interest and ability in academics, especially economics and Islamic finance, and this
requires full support from those who are interested in improving the quality and capacity as an
academic.

On the other hand, Turkey is a very advanced country in education, and its Indonesian partners
in diplomatic relations between countries, Turkey has a wealth of extraordinary Islamic cultural
heritage. This reinforces the reason that the person concerned also has a concentration on the
development of the global Islamic world, especially in Islamic economics.

This will greatly help the Indonesian state to develop economic products and innovations in
the future. It also enhances the close relations between the two countries: Turkey and Indonesia.
I consider Mr. Handi to have a good potential ability and highly recommend Mr. Mohamad
Handi Khalifah to get opportunities and be accepted for Türkiyeburslari Scholarship 2019,
Graduate Scholarship Doctorate Programme (P.hD) at universities in Turkey. I made this

Türkiyeburslari Scholarship 2019 to apply to the Doctoral (Ph.D.) program majoring in Islamic
Economics and Finance in an accepted University.

As far as I know, Mr. Handi is a student who has a long vision for education. Why?

For the last 3 years, Mr. Handi is a dynamic and visioner youth, especially about the career that
he wants to walk in. He appoints Turkey as the destination for continuing study because it has
cities with high historical values, primarily about Waqf Management and how it shapes the
world's civilization with a prosperous value and cultural influence up till now under Turkey's
flag with its sovereign. His interest in real Waqf management and innovation is proven by his
academic activity in one of Indonesia's influential universities, Universitas Indonesia. Also, he
wants to broaden his wings to explore the world through Turkey as the gate of Knowledge.

As his Lecture, superintendent and mentor, I strongly recommend him to earn the scholarship
because he often helps me in various kinds of academic activities, and his potential, which

This letter was made to provide recommendations to Mr. Mohamad Handi Khalifah to get the
Türkiyeburslari Scholarship 2019 and continue his doctoral (Ph.D.) program at a University in
Turkey.

Handi is very active in academic activities; he is motivated to improve his academic abilities
and contributes a lot to developing innovation in the team. We collaborate in many activities,
especially in improving the quality of human resources at the place where I work at the
University of Indonesia,

As we know, Indonesia and Turkey are two Muslim countries that have good relations; Turkey
is a beautiful country with a great history. Friendly people and beautiful architectural buildings
as a marker of noble and cultural values. Therefore Indonesia needs to send its human resources
to learn in many ways from Turkey: social, political, cultural, and economical.

Turkey is a Muslim country that is successful in managing waqf funds. Mr. Handi is interested
in developing Islamic economics and finance; his main focus is on waqf management and
innovation because Indonesia commits to optimizing the potential of waqf (Islamic Financial
Funds), which is owned; therefore, Indonesia needs qualified human resources in its
management. Therefore I recommend Mr. Handi to be able to receive a scholarship.
