NATIONAL READING MONTH and

PAMBANSANG BUWAN at ARAW NG PAGBASA 2021

In celebration of the National Reading Month / Pambansang Buwan at Araw ng Pagbasa

and in support of the 3B’s Initiative (Hamon: Bawat Bata Bunabasa), the Sigaboy
Agricultural Vocational High school celebrates Reading Month with the theme, “Bawat
Bata Bumabasa sa Kabila ng Hamon ng Pandemya” and conducts different contest
that will create and promote the love for reading.

A. BOOK CHARACTER CONTEST/ ENGLISH CATEGORY

1. Every year level will have 2 participants that will represent their level. (1 male and 1
female)
2. Each entry shall represent any book character from any book.
3. A picture of a chosen book character must be shown.
4. There will be no restrictions as to the kind of materials the participants will be using for
the costume of the character.
5. November 22, 2021 will be the date for the pictorial. A consent letter from the parent
must be secure. Let us not forget to follow the set protocols.
6. The school shall carefully select a board of judges. Their decision shall be considered
final and irrevocable.
7. Judging of contestants shall be done on the day of the virtual event.

B. HOME READING SPACE/CORNER ENGLISH CATEGORY

1. This is open to all students enrolled in Sigaboy Agricultural Vocational High School
(SAVHS)
2. Create your Home Reading learning space in a small part of your home with books and
other learning materials.
3. Take a picture of your home reading learning space/corner and your picture while
reading your favorite book or doing your modules.
4. Upload atleast three (3) pictures in your facebook with a caption “Bawat Bata
Bumabasa sa Kabila ng Hamon ng Pandemya” and tag the SAVHS official page. Don’t
forget to like and follow.
5. Send a copy of your pictures to the link to be forwarded to your adviser. Format will be
YOUR NAME, NAME OF ADVISER, GRADE and SECTION
6. The judges will choose only the best home reading learning space / corner.
7. Deadline will be on November 19, 2021 @ 11:59 Pm

C. QUIZ BEE/ENGLISH CATEGORY

1. Each section shall have a representative/participant (name of participant must be given

on Nov.19, 2021)
2. He/She must have an internet connection for the online platform for the virtual quiz bee
and must be able to maintain a clear video and audio during the event.
3. A quiz master shall read the question while the question itself will be flashed on a
screen for the contestants to see.
4. All answers must be written on the slate boards (or any blank piece of paper where you
can write your answer). It shall be raised when the time is up. Failure to so do will signal a
warning for the first offense and disqualification for the second.
5. Any question or query to the correctness of the answers should be raised before the
start of the next question.
6. The participant who garnered the higher points shall be declared as the winner.
* In cases of ties, three (3) clincher questions will be raised to break the tie.
7. You must watch the two episode of mystery reader in SAVHS page.
8. Questions will be drawn out of the two stories read by our two-mystery reader.
9. A link will be sent to you and to your adviser before November 22, 2021 for the online
quiz bee.
