Music Lesson Plan

Title: The Berenstains’ Book Grade Level: 2

Materials needed:
The Berenstains’ book

Procedure:
A.S:
• First you will read the book out loud. Let them know you will be asking
them questions about the book. So, they must pay attention.
• When done reading ask the students “who can remember what came after
the blue bull?’
• Give a change for the student to answer. If they do not remember, then read
the book again.
• Teachers tell your student to “clap your hands twice when you know the
answer, please”.
• Pick on one student (say name) Answer is beautiful baboon.
• Let your students know that “The questions will get harder and harder class
so make sure to pay attention”.
• Read the book again.
• Ask students “what else did the big brown bear, blue bull, beautiful baboon
do while going backwards in their bike?
• Give them a change to answer the question. If they do not remember, then
read the book again.
• Teacher tells student “This time clap your hands three times when you have
the answer”
• Give student the opportunity to answer. If they do not remember, then read
the book again.
• Pick on one student (say name) Answer is blowing bubbles.
• Read the book again.
• Ask students “what happened after the BAM?”
• Give student the opportunity to answer. If they do not remember, then read
the book again.
• Teacher tells student “This time clap your hands four times when you have
the answer”
• Pick on one student (say name) Answer is bump black bug’s banana boxes.
• Read the book again.
• Ask students “Do you guys remember who they encounter after Billy
bunny’s breadbasket?
• Give student the opportunity to answer. If they do not remember, then read
the book again.
• Teacher tells student “This time clap your hands five times when you have
the answer”
• Pick on one student (say name) Answer is Brother Bob’s baseball bus.
• Read the book again.
• Teacher says “This will be out final question of the day class. So, make sure
you pay well this time.”
• Ask students “Who can tell me what broke baby bird’s balloon?”
• Give student the opportunity to answer. If they do not remember, then read
the book again.
• Teacher tells student “This time clap your hands six times when you have
the answer”
• Pick on one student (say name) Answer is “Big brown bear, blue bull,
beautiful baboon blowing bubbles biking backwards, bump black bugs
banana boxes and Billy Bunny’s breadbasket and brother Bob’s baseball bus
and a buster beagle’s banjo bagpipe-bugle band…
Closure: Teacher then says” Great job class. You guys did an amazing job in
listening. Did you guys have fun? Student respond “yes we had lots of fun
teachers” (example) Let continue having fun class and keep learning great listening
skills.
