Sections.

homogeneous 102 81.82 4.324 .428

The table shows the group statistics in math average for heterogenous and homogeneous
sections. The sample size of heterogenous is 160, the mean is 83.11; in homogeneous, 102
sample size, 81.82 is the mean. By the look of it, heterogeneous section has higher math average
as compared to homogeneous.

An independent samples t-test was conducted to compare Math Average for the sections
heterogenous and homogenous. There were significant differences (t (260) = 2.292, p = .02) in
scores for Heterogenous (M = 83.11, SD = 4.51) and Homogenous (M = 81.82, SD = 4.32).
The magnitude of the differences in the means (mean difference = 1.28, 95% CI: .182 to 2.396)
was significant. Hence, H1 was supported.
