The mathematical performance of the learners with specific difficulty in mathematics is

based on the interplay of the different factors like the personal –related variables and school –

related variables. The continuous development on the mathematical performance in the

elementary, a lot of mathematical models had been presented to address low performance in

mathematics. However, the impetus for this study came from what we refer as learners with

specific difficulties in mathematics: Difficulties in mathematics has far less prevalent

discussions of academic support. Mathematics is confined to a formal context of curriculum

based learning. In which the use of school related variables had shown little math research on

this field. There was also little of study that deals on the specific learning difficulty in

mathematics in the elementary. This proposal study will be an initial step to begin conversation

and look specifically at the feasibility of providing remediation or instructional intervention in

mathematics to enhance mathematics performance along learners with specific difficulties in

mathematics.

The personal –related variables mainly include the age, sex, and mental ability (IQ) of the

learners in the grade IV classes and enrolled for this school year. This variable will be used to

see the significant relationship with the performance in mathematics and mental abilities of the

learners. These variable are extended to encompass other possible factors such as the school-

related variables like the results of early grade mathematics assessment (EGMA), master your

skills (MYS) and performance of learners in mathematics. The possible relationships of the

personal related and school related variables will highlight the mathematics performance of the

learners with specific difficulties in mathematics.

Results of the study may provide a remediation or intervention to address the specific

difficulties in mathematics with the hope of enhancing the performance of learners in

mathematics and regard this subject as academic and enjoyable subject. The content and feature

of this program will help the district to deliver and appropriate intervention to address specific

difficulties in mathematics and improve the delivery of the mathematics curriculum.
