Answer:

The four thematic areas of Philippine Disaster Management System:

1. Disaster Prevention and Mitigation – This area avoids hazards and mitigate their
potential impacts by reducing vulnerabilities and exposure and enhancing capacities of
communities.
2. Disaster Preparedness – This area establishes and strengthen capacities of
communities to anticipate, cope and recover from the negative impacts of emergency
occurrences and disasters.
3. Disaster Response – This area provides life preservation and meet the basic
subsistence needs of affected population based on acceptable standards during or
immediately after a disaster.
4. Disaster Recovery and Rehabilitation – This area restores and improves facilities,
livelihood, living conditions and organizational capacities.
