Standards: Fluency
Grades 4 and 5 are able to read fast and have the ability to read
with speed, accuracy, and proper expression. In order to
understand what they read, children must be able to read
fluently whether they are reading aloud or silently.
Standards: Comprehension/Critical Literacy
Students understand the text and read and comprehend
poetry, fiction, and nonfiction that is appropriately designed for
fourth grade.
Standard: RESEARCH AND IMFORTATION
Students will understand the organization of and access
information from a variety of sources including dictionaries,
encyclopedias, atlases, and almanacs, tables of contents,
glossaries, and indexes and identify a research question and
appropriate sources to answer that question.
