Lesson Proper/ Activity: (2 hours)

‘’ After doing the task, what do you  Finding square root in decimal
think is our lesson for today? number.

‘’Yes, that’s right. ‘’

‘’Today, let us discussed on some

strategies that will help you to lessen
your difficulties to find a square root in
decimal number. ‘’

‘’The techniques that we use to find

square in decimal number is division
method.’’

‘’In math, division method is a method

used for dividing large numbers into
groups or parts. ... Just like all division
problems, a large number, which is the
dividend, is divided by another number,
which is called the divisor, to give a
result called the quotient and
sometimes a remainder.’’

‘’ Okay now we used this method to find

a square root in decimal number.’’

‘’ Let me show you a example.

Number one example is.

√ 11 .56
The first step is you need to pair every
number, so 5 and 6 is pair and one to
one is pair also.
√ 11 .56
The second step is you have need to
think a number or look in multiplication
table a number that to get a 11. The first
pair that we solve is 11.

‘’So what number that you think is?’’

‘’The answer is 3 because 3x3 is?’’

3 9
3 √ 11 .56
9

2 .56

‘’ The third step is you need to bring

down the 3 and multiply it to constant
20.’’
3
60
3 11.56
9

3×20=60 2.56

‘’ The fourth step is you need to think a

number you may add to 60, that can be
multiply as nearest or exactly at 256.’’

‘’The answer is 4 and they will be going

in 64, because 64x4 is 256.’’

3.4

3 11.56
9

3×20=60 2.56
+ 4 2.56

64 0

‘’ So the √11.56 is 3.4’’

‘’ Yes Ma'am’’
‘’ Class did you understand on how to
find a square of decimal number?? ‘’

‘’I will give an another example the’’ ‘’ Ma'am first we were going to group
√761.76 the number.’’
‘’ What is the first that we going?’’

" Yes that's right we will going to pair

every number.’’

We start pairing in the decimal number.

In the left destination, the pair is 6 and 1
so the 7 is alone, and going in right 7
and 6 is pair.
√ 761.76

And the second step we are going to

think a number that we divide in 7

What's the number that you're think to

divide in 7?

2 761.76
4 ‘’ 2 Ma'am ‘’
3 61

‘’ Yes that's right’’

Because 2x2 is equal to 4

‘’So the next step is you are going to

bring down the 2 and multiply it to
constant 20.’’
2

2 761.76
4 ‘’ Ma'am I think the next step is you
2×20 = 40 3 61 are going to think a number that
partner in 4 to take a answer in 361.’’

( Silent )

‘’So what's the next?’’

So what is the answer? Any body here.

After we multiplied 2 to it’s constant 20,

The next step is to find out which
number we can add to 40 and it’s
number we find out if we multiply to the
results may results to 361 or nearest to
361.

27

2 761.76
4
2×20 = 40 3 61
+ 7 3 29

47 32 76

The next step is you are going to

multiply 7 to 47.  Yes Ma'am

The next step is you are going to

multiply 7 to 3 and equal to 27, and
multiply 27 to constant 20, And equal to
540. we will figure out which number we ( Yes Ma'am )
will need to add to 540 and when it’s
multiply to the number that we add may
results in 3276 or nearest.
So we find out is 7 so 540 adding by 7
and multiplied to 7 is equal to 547.
Next step is divide 547 in 3276.

2 7. 6

2 761.76
4
2×20 = 40 3 61
+ 7 3 29

47 32 76
27×20=540
+ 6
546 32 76
0

And 6 multiply to 546 is 3276 and

subtract it to 3276 and resulted to 0.

So the square root of 761.76 is 27.6

Did you understand on how to find a

square root in decimal number?

Let us try this square root of 27.9

Any body here to solve in the black

board?

So very good, that's right, now you

know how to find a square root in
decimal number using division
method.Thank you very much for
answering.

 So now to end this discussion we

will give a test.
Here are the test-questions for your
Post Test. I am giving you 50minutes to
answer the questions. You will use the
division method to check if you have
understood the lessons.
