(Flexible Fuel AA-body) times allows the system to enter into closed loop op-
eration sooner and remain in closed loop during pe-
riods of extended idle.
In Closed Loop operation the powertrain control
module (PCM) monitors the O2 sensor input (along
with other inputs) and adjusts the injector pulse
width accordingly. During Open Loop operation the
PCM ignores the O2 sensor input. The PCM adjusts
injector pulse width based on preprogrammed (fixed)
oxygen sensor input values and the current inputs
from other sensors.
REMOVAL
INSTALLATION INSTALLATION
(1) Loosely assemble EGR tube and new gaskets (1) Install aspirator tube. Tighten the nut to 54
into place on intake and exhaust manifolds. NIm (40 ft. lbs) torque.
(2) Tighten mounting bolts to 22 NIm (200 in. lbs.) (2) Install aspirator tube bracket screw. Tighten
torque. screw to 11 NIm (95 in. lbs) torque.
(3) Connect air hose to aspirator valve inlet and
air cleaner nipple.
