1. Do most people behave ethically at work or do they lie, cheat and steal? Elucidate your answer.

Behaving ethically is a must in every workplace. We even study about these ethics (Code of Ethics for
Professional Teachers) before graduating in college. Thus, it is expected that before we get into the job,
we are already aware about behaving professionally at work. I believe that most people do behave ethical
at work - that is mainly the scenario in my workplace - however, "most" doesn't mean ALL that is why at
some point, you will still encounter people who lie and cheat even they're already professionals. Some
may even bring personal issues at work and for me who is new to this field, it is quite alarming and
somehow disappointing. Some may say that even we're already professionals, we are still human beings
and we are not perfect. Yes, that is true however that doesn't mean that doing those things are RIGHT and
ACCEPTABLE. As professionals we should not only nourish our brains with wisdom but we should also
give importance to our attitude. We are professionals so we must act like one. I believe that by doing so,
we can be able to achieve a better workplace environment and gain respect not just from the people we
work with but also with people who look up on us - our learners.

2. Do you believe that most organizations really try to provide employees with job satisfaction? Give
examples of what organizations do to increase job satisfaction.

Yes. Employees are organization's greatest asset and good managers/leaders will truly do their best to
provide employees with job satisfaction. JOB SATISFACTION of every employees is very important.
We all wanted to be treated right in our workplace; Feel that our efforts are acknowledged and given
importance; and we also wanted to be properly financially compensated. Some of the things an
organization can do to ensure job satisfaction are:
A. Showing Respect for all employees at all levels: Titles and Salary grades is not a license to be
disrespectful to people around us. We should show respect on one another from the school janitor,
security guard up to the school principal. This way, job satisfaction will increase.

B. Giving proper financial compensations: Needless to say, we all wanted to have a financially secured
life. By giving proper financial compensations, employees will tend to be more productive and focus on
work because they know that they are compensated well on what they are doing thus increasing job
satisfaction.

C. Recognizing job performance: We all wanted to be appreciated and acknowledge. I believe that
acknowledging one's achievements for the organizations isn't that hard and will surely give more
motivation to someone to perform better. Knowing that our efforts for the organization is given
importance, we will have good job satisfaction.

3. Which cause of stress do you think is the major contributor to teachers' stress in your
school/organization? Why? Elaborate your answer.

Some of the top causes of stress I can think of as the major contributors to teachers' stress in our school
are: Low Pay; Current Trends in Education; Student Behaviors; and Lot of Side Duties/assignments.
Among these, I believe that the no. 1 major contributor to teachers' stress is the Low Pay. Don't get me
wrong, as a teacher, I am extremely grateful that I am employed. However, we can't deny the fact that our
salary isn't giving justice considering our duties and responsibilities. That is why, a lot of teachers I know
tend to find other source of income such as online selling just to survive. This causes a lot of stress which
affects the job performance of teachers. I believe that if only the government would hear us, teachers will
not be forced to engage in sidelines and will just focus more on teaching. This will result to less teachers
stress and good job performance.

(P.S. Teaching financial literacy to teachers too would make things a lot better.)
