TIME MANAGEMENT CONCEPT 2

Introduction

The most efficient way to live reasonably is managing time and making a plan then

examine the results obtained in the set time. Time management is the way people schedule how

long they spend time on specific activities. The time management concept is relatively easy as it

is based on what to focus on, what to create, and what to limit and avoid for it to be effective.

Time management has benefits like people being efficient in their work, increasing productivity

and portraying an excellent professional reputation. Time management also plays a role in giving

readers opportunities to achieve career and life goals.

Techniques that aid in Time Management

Focus

Several techniques assist with time management in that when they are put into practice,

good results are achieved. The first strategy is focusing, whereby an individual who is practicing

time management is advised to focus on essential tasks only and ignore the minor ones. Anyone

practicing time management should differentiate crucial tasks and the less important ones. More

time should be set for significant tasks (Abugre, 2017). People should also manage time by

focusing on the organization and making sure everything is well organized. It should also aid

easy access to any activity that will enable it to be done with minimal time, allowing more

productivity.

Limit

Time management also needs people to limit some of the things to be done with the set

schedule. For example, interruptions in activities like an airplane passing around, making people

shift their attention. People should limit the interruptions that come along and work with their

schedule to avoid running out of time or re planning their activities again (Kreimeier, Morlock,

Prinz, Krückhans, Bakir & Meier ,2014). The number of responsibilities should be limited, and

people work on average responsibilities to avoid running out of time because of many

responsibilities on a tight schedule. Average responsibilities should be worked on and each

responsibility given a program that will enable it to get done effectively.

Create

Time management needs the creation of measurable goals that can be achieved and can

be measured. The best goals should be measurable, and they work best with a managed schedule.

Prioritizing specific goals is the best way to go because it will enable each plan to be done in the

best way possible and period (Kelley, 2017). People should also create time for priorities, every

activity has a focus, and it should be given the first hand while non-priorities can be worked on

during the free time. People should not combine priorities and non-priorities and work with them

simultaneously because the time managed will not be enough for both activities hence creating

loopholes.

A plan of action should have its time created and people should work with the already set

time limit. Individuals should prioritize planning of action during the time specified for it and

check on the expected results. Individuals should create time for essential activities at work

because not all activities are necessary and not all actions should be done for the best products to

be achieved (Kelley, 2017). Individuals should create time for the essential activities and work

on them during the set time limit then leave the other actions to get done during free time. For

this to be possible there should be a manner in which results should be weighed on the specific

time limits to see their percentage of success.

Online platforms impact on time management

Online learning platforms are increasing day after day and their impact on time

management cannot go unrecognized. The online learning platforms have positively impacted

time management because children, students, and adults use them, thanks to the increasing

technology day after day (Broadbent, 2017). With online platforms, people are not walking,

cycling, or riding to go and get an education like before because they can access their

information online without going anywhere. People used to go and get studies in institutions but

can do other important activities during that time. The online platforms have also helped people

save time; they used to go and visit libraries or get books but they can now access all that online.

Solutions

Some solutions can be used to overcoming the challenge of time management. The best is

to plan on the activities to get done first and then assign each activity its own time so that it will

be easier to weigh the results afterwards. Planning of activities and managing the time the

activities will be carried out perfectly will aid in getting the best results (Nawrot & Doucet,

2014). Avoiding interruptions is another solution. It will make an individual work on what is

essential only and leave the other things to achieve good results with minimum time.

Conclusion

Time management helps people work smartly and not hard, and it makes much work to

get done in less time. Time management allows people to work well even in a tight schedule

because each second, minute, and hour is planned and will not go into waste. When time is not

managed well, it will lead to stress and un effectiveness in work. There are only twenty-four

hours in a day, but different people working in the same position will get different results,

ranging from very high scores while others very low scores, and the secret lies in good time

management. Every person should take it as their initiative to manage their time well for

significant results.
