PROFESSIONAL GROWTH PLAN

My professional growth plan focuses on my goals and plans to achieve such goals within a
three to five year mark from where I am currently at.

One of the biggest goals I have is to receive my teaching certification before I graduate in
May 2022. I passed the Subject Knowledge exam for English in August 2021. By early
March 2022, I plan to take the Professional Knowledge exam and pass, thereby completing
my teaching certification for Arizona.

My next goal I have is to get a teaching position in Arizona in the high school or middle
school setting teaching English. Ultimately, I do want to get a Master's degree. I love
creative writing and would enjoy using my Master's degree to teach creative writing in a
university or community college setting.

A final interest of mine is to teach abroad in a foreign country, such as South Korea. I have
recently developed an interest in the culture and language and do think this could be a
potential route I take after I gain some teaching experience. This goal is not as developed
as I have recently been introduced to the idea, so I would take a step back and once I start
teaching determine if it is a path I want to take.
