Online and face-to-face

With the development of technology, the way we meet with other people has changed a

lot. We have internet that we needn’t meet people face to face. If we miss someone, we can

take out our phones and call him a video. So, this essay is going to talk about the difference

between face to face and chat online. The convenience, whether the online is more effective

than face-to-face, the advantages of face-to-face communication.

Online talking is more convenient while face to face is not. Because you can connect to

the internet everywhere you want except you are somewhere have no signal. Also, wherever

the guy you are talking to is, you can always get caught with him using your smartphone.

According to my experience on campus when my parents miss me a lot. What they need to do

is call me on WeChat. Meanwhile, we can talk through the screen. But face to face is not

convenient. Because we need to go outside and take a drive, then, after you sweat a lot, you

can meet him face to face. If he is far away, you even need to take a flight.

Online talking is actually more effective than face to face talks. Because online lets you

use software to make your work more accessible with the help of all kinds of software such

as BlackBoard and DingDing. Our work gets more organized and well planned. Without the

software, we might do all our results on paper. Writing on it is tied, and other people might

not understand what you are talking about because your words look ugly. Also, face-to-face

communication might lead to chaos arguing, or we might talk about our lives and make no

progress, for example, in my PIEP class. We need to make a post. But we are just talking and

make no progress. So, I did most of the work. It makes the working harder than all by myself

because I need to consider others’ feelings instead of doing what I want to do on the post.

Face to face makes people more familiar with each other while online feels far from the
person you are talking with. Face to face, you can see what they behave and look straight into

their eyes. As we all know, we can get others’ emotions through their eyes. That makes us feel

a sense of empathy. But in online chatting, you feel like you are talking with a screen instead

of a living person. For example, when I miss my parents. I will call them on WeChat.

However, that doesn’t make me feels better. Cause I can’t see their touch them and feel their

emotion. As a result, it makes me feel worse.

In short, everything has its advantages and shortcomings. Online is more convenient

while face to face is necessary for some situations. Online is more convenient and effective,

while face-to-face communication makes people closer to each other. Online meeting is

suitable for some business talking or a way of protecting people from COVID-19. As well the

face-to-face contact is ideal for some family meetings and friend parties.
