COMMUNITY DIAGNOSIS (FORESEEABLE CRISIS)

PROBLEM:
 Potential for increased population.
DATA:
 Higher frequency of males than females(157 or 54%).
ETIOLOGY:
 Marriage belief “maikamang”
PROGRAM/ STRATEGIES:
 Health teachings about family planning.
OBJECTIVES:
 To prevent overpopulation so that families may sustain their needs.
ANALYSIS:
 According to Joe Bish in his article,“Overpopulation: Cause and Effect”, overpopulation causes additional strains on resources. More people
means an increased demand for food, water, housing, energy, healthcare, transportation, and more. And all that consumption contributes to
ecological degradation, increased conflicts, and a higher risk of large-scale disasters like pandemics. Also, according to the article published in
Conserve Energy for Future by Green, Stay Green, overpopulation causes depletion of natural resources as the Earth can only produce a limited
amount of water and food, which is falling short of the current needs. Overpopulated communities give rise to unemployment as there are fewer
jobs to support a large number of people. The rise in unemployment gives rise to crime, such as theft, as people want to feed their families and
provide them basic amenities of life. It also raises the prices of various essential commodities, including food, shelter, and healthcare. This
means that people have to pay more to survive and feed their families.
