Calibration check
A calibration resistor plugged into the measuring
jack of the Aqua Boy moisture meter in the place of
the measuring cable provides a simple and reliable
way of checking the scale calibration of the meter.
As shown in the illustration, the housing of the
calibration resistor indicates the type of Aqua Boy
moisture meter for which the resistor is intended
and the reading that is to be maintained on the meter dial. The reading is obtained by plugging
the calibration resistor into the measuring jack of the meter and depressing the white
measuring button. Before checking the measuring values, always check the battery charge by
means of the red test button. When checking the accuracy of the reading by means of a
calibration resistor, the latter must be at a temperature of 20° C. To permit the correct
temperature to be determined and maintained a temperature gauge is mounted on the head
of the calibration resistor. Should the reading not be the same as standard value shown on the
resistor, the moisture meter needs to be sent for calibration to an official center.
