Assalamualaikum wbt, hello my dear lecturer Madam Haniza. My name is Rafidah binti Amran.
I’m from class JBA1113B. So, on this video, I would like to share with you an amazing short
movie I have watched. The title of this short movies is Meet the Kayak, a 2013 USA Comedy-
movies. The 6 minutes short movies were produced by Christine Chen. This movie is under
Wong Fu Production. It was written and directed by Wesley Chan, Philip Wang, Chris Dinh and
Ted Fu. So, I am going to share with you various aspects of the short movie which I found very
funny and interesting as it's a genre comedy.
Firstly, let me talk about the cast. The main characters are Chris, Joan, Charles and Mom. Chris
is Joan’s boyfriend, he wants to meet Joan’s parents for the first time but need to go alone
because Joan is busy with her work. Next, Joan is the daughter of Charles and Mom, and she is
Chris's girlfriend.
Now, allow me to share with you a beautiful storyline of Meet the Kayak. The movie begins
with Chris wanting to meet his girlfriend's parents, Joan for the first time. But Joan had to come
home a bit late that day because she still had work to do, so she asked Chris to go meet her
parents alone. However, Chris wanted to wait for Joan to come home from work because he was
afraid to meet her parents alone because this was his first time. However, Joan managed to
persuade Chris to meer her parents alone.
On that day, Joan's parents, Charles and her mother talked about the kayak that her mother
wanted to sell on online, and someone wanted to see a kayak on the same day. Then, Chris came
to Joan's parents’ house and greeted Joan's father politely. However, Charles misunderstood that
he thought Chris was the one who wanted to buy his kayak.
Then, without knowing and understanding the situation, Chris just followed what Joan's father
said. Because of that misunderstanding, Charles continued by showing the kayak to Chris. Chris
thought Joan's father Charles liked him because Charles invited him to try and drive the kayak in
a nearby reservoir. Then Charles sold the kayak with Chris, and Chris agreed to the sale without
knowing anything.
Afterwards, Chris wanted to follow Charles into the house, therefore, Charles felt strange why
he followed him. Then, Joan and her mother went out to greet the two of them, Charles said he
managed to sell the kayak with Chris, Joan was surprised that the one who bought the kayak was
her boyfriend. Joan's parents were also shocked when knew Chris was Joan's boyfriend. So, Joan
said that this is just a misunderstanding.
After that, Joan's father said that the kayak sale was final. Finally, the kayak has been sold with
Chris who is confused what has happened.

The story is very interesting and has funny scenes. The film is visually stunning brilliantly with
its very interesting storyline. The character I love in this movie is Chris. That's because Chris is a
man who is respect for the elderly. For example, in this movie, he listened to all the words of
Charles and behaved politely in front of Charles who always smiled without showing any bad
facial expressions.
The moral value that can be found in this movie is that we must ask first before doing anything
so that there is no misunderstanding. Here, we also can find it important to respect people older
than us like Chris respecting Joan’s fathers.

The memorable scene in this movie is a scene when Charles and Chris go out to a nearby
reservoir to try kayak driving. These scenes can create a rather funny memory unknowingly and
get to know each other better.
To recapitulate, what matters most in a short movie is the story, characters, imagination, and
hearts. Meet the Kayak has it all. For me personally, Meet the Kayak is a great and funny movie,
a short journey filled with the interesting storyline. I have watched it at least three times and can
keep watching it again, because every time I watch it, it makes me laugh. So, if you still have not
watched Meet the Kayak, please watch it at YouTube at Wong Fu Production Channel. You will
be treated to only 6 minutes of non-stop fun, and excitement. That’s all. Thank you for listening.
