Document Development Exposition: White Paper

Explain in detail your document’s development from planning to finish, describing your
challenges, how you overcame them, and what you learned.

Planning
I originally planned to write this document with the purpose of educating and informing others about
the effects of water scarcity on our environment, what attributes to water scarcity, and what we can
do to resolve the issue.

First Draft (for peer editing)

For my first draft, I outlined everything and included a summary of the information for each section. I
implemented the style guide to make the headings stand out and help the readers follow along.

Second Draft (for your packet)

For the second draft, I added more imagery and more information for each section. However, I did
not take into account the correct formatting and how the document should include a problem,
solution, and how the solution solves the problem.

Final Draft (for your portfolio)

For the final draft, I decided to revise the whole thing to match the structure outlined in the
PowerPoint. I changed the body sections to include a problem, solution, and how the solution solves
the problem. I also revised the abstract to summarize the whole paper and not just certain sections.
In addition, I removed the infographic image and replaced it with a graph image so that it would
blend better in the report and support my prose.
