Experience Summary
Over more than twenty-four years of progressively increasing responsibility and experience in executing and
managing public health program with focus on Communicable Disease Control Program, Nutrition, Child Health
Immunization, Adolescent Health, Reproductive health, partnership management and advocacy, health planning,
capacity building and project management being associated with development and humanitarian organization of
National and International repute. Have work in diverse geographic settings and multi –disciplinary team Delhi,
Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana and Madhya Pradesh. Demonstrate
competence in program management, coordinating and collaborating with broad range of multidisciplinary partners
including governments, UN agencies (UNFPA, UNICEF), and International non-governmental organizations (CARE,
Oxfam, EngenderHealth, World Vision, William J Clinton Foundation) research institute (ICMR, NCDS). Proven

Contributed to peer-reviewed journal on progress made on Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health
(ARSH) in India review of existing government strategies which commentary has been accepted for
publication in the British Medical Journal.

Abstract Enabling Environment Increase availability, access, awareness and sustainable Adolescent
Reproductive and Sexual Health (ARSH) program have been accepted for Poster Presentation APCRSHR
at the Philippine Convention Center in Manila, Philippines -2014

Abstract titled 'Adolescent Health is an Opportunity to Improve Maternal and Neonatal Health' has been

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
TB Control Program in India with WJCF / WVI since February 2016 till Date
Provide technical and operational assistance to State TB Officer. Support PIP-development, utilization of NGO/PP-
schemes, replication of GF-project’s activities and community engagement. Coordinate with state level CSO-partners
and other stakeholders. Develop linkages with professional bodies and networks to enhance TB case notification from
private sectors. Engage with RNTCP staff and facilitate engagement for public-private partnership. Manage overall
program operation of the region with PPSA lite and PPSA. Identify training needs for project staffs and PPM RNTCP
staff and organize the same in coordination with NPMU. Provide support to SR-partners in developing their quarterly
action plan and monitor implementation of the action plan. Support to track adherence of treatment among the patient
treated thorough private sector. Support capacity building and technical assistance to the project team in the state.
Directly supervise activities of project staffs. Plan and allocate PPSA lite resources appropriately to maximize TB case
notification. Provide technical leadership and direction to grant closure activities of Axshya Odisha, West Bengal,
Madhya Pradesh. Supported in data management and hand over, including generation of evidence for future program
in National / state/ district levels. Support to SR teams for documentation, dissemination and advocacy at district and
state levels. Facilitate program and Finance inter-face during the closure process as well as support risk-based
program (Integrated) audits, as specified by WV India.
RMNCH+A and RI with UNICEF March 2015 to December 2015,
As State RMNCH+A Coordinator provide technical support to the state RMNCH+A Cell in the Implementation of
C2A and build up the capacity of the district and regional program officers, consultants and partners on the evidence-
based approach to planning, programming and monitoring at district level. As QA – Community based RMNCH &
Specialist – RI play a critical role in ensuring that the routine immunization receives sufficient technical support to
achieve high rates of coverage and the program is continuously supported with state-of-the-art knowledge, best
practices and new and adapted tools &technologies. Coordinate integration of immunization with other technical areas
such as maternal health, newborn care, and nutrition.

Adolescent Health Program with UNFPA and Engender Health September 2011 to February 2015
Provide technical oversight and programmatic directions to the state health society to the implementation of
adolescent program components primarily to the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Telangana, West Bengal, Bihar and
Jharkhand also support at the national level besides that also support other state as and when required. Support to
SHS in establishing the effective and functional convergence with education and social welfare department for
implementation of various activities under school health, WIFS and MHS. Design and develop Capacity building
interventions for medical officers, health workers, teachers and AWW for providing adolescent health counseling and
services, in collaboration with other technical experts of the program team. Work closely with other development
partners to develop an exhaustive supportive supervision plan both the state and district level for focus and effective
supportive supervision and using monitoring data for action. Develop & roll out of state specific communication plan
including advocacy, BCC for existing and newer intervention on AH. Work in a complementary fashion with other
key personal, internal and external stakeholders to effectively lead and manage the project. Responsible for project
fund management including monitoring of expenditure, analysis of fund balance, ensuring the use of project funds in
compliance with the donor approved budget. Monitor the staff performance and provide constructive feedback to the
staff and support for improvement. Lead the staffs in advocating for the ARSH program within states and country
wide increased visibility of the project result and of the evidence of effectiveness of the project approaches in
implementation of the program and improving services. Facilitate training for health service providers (Medical
officers/Front line worker / outreach worker) and managers at different level.

Nutrition Program with Care India November 2002 to August 2011


Facilitate district level Nutrition Operation Plan of W&CD and H&FW for implementation of Nutrition Operational
Plan and Health Equity Plan in the districts of Orissa. Develop partnership with AW & ANM Training Intuitions to
streamline CB activities and incorporate INHP into the training curriculum. Provide technical support to training
Institutions for improving the quality of training for service providers. Review the training curriculum of ANM &
AWW through participatory approach involving different stakeholders. Advocate for modification of curriculum of
AWTC & ANMTC in line with INHP intervention with appropriate authority and recommendations of the changes
shared. Provide leadership and overall management of capacity building activities, undertook training need
assessment, designed training curriculum different category participants and service providers. Develop IEC materials
including Life Cycle Register through consultative process track service coverage & key behavior indicators at AWC
level. Providing technical, managerial and operation support to the stakeholders, generating community demand,
establishing system of holding service provider accountable. Providing sector wide support at local level to sustain the
efforts in community and to maintain the improve status of Child health and nutrition. Planed and facilitate district
level routine immunization orientation for health & ICDS staffs districts of Orissa. Advocate with district Health
administration for support to the outreach immunization sessions through cost effective approach. Facilitate
organizing outreach immunization sessions, nutrition week observation. Succeed in streamlining intervention for
administration of pediatric IFA and deworming in children 1-3-year age group which is not an existing practice of the
district. Conduct orientation on Micro Planning initiating process to institutionalize health behavior change tracking in
the district. Facilitate conduct periodic impact assessment in the panel district to assess effectiveness of the program
for necessary programmatic decisions. Develop partnership provide techno managerial support and groom them to
enhance their technical and management skills to be able to support for effectively implementation the programs.
Periodically monitored &reviewed the partnering NGO involvement in the program area & guided them to provide
best services through community managed health system.

HIV/AIDS with INSEF supported by NACO November 1997 to March 1999


Overall manage the project planning, monitoring, evaluation and report writing. Baseline KAP studies among the
targeted population. Conducting pears training for truckers and CSWs. Coordinate with port authority to established
project office in port area. Build the capacity of field staffs to deliver quality project activities. Supervision and
monitoring of the field staff activities as well as hand holding support as and when required. Facilitate training of
grass-root level counselor on HIV/AIDS districts of Orissa organized by CINI, Calcutta. Manage implement training
and capacity building initiatives ensuring quality in the deliverables. Develop appropriate training calendar share with
all teams, including administration for better coordination of activities. Support the training evaluation to identify the
effectiveness of the trainings and take corrective measures if required.

Research with ICMR, NCDS January 1995 to November 1999


Assist in data collection, compilations, analysis, and report writing in ICMR sponsored project on improving
reproductive health (MCH/FP) care by decentralization of targets and minimal care at sub-center level at Niali Odisha.
Coordinate between field investigators, different level health staffs & intuitions of Cuttack, Phulbani and Anugul
District of Orissa. Orientate of field investigators on study tools. Support and monitor the functions of field
investigator for quality survey at the project villages. Conduct survey of Health facilities of the project area to
examine the impact on access, utilization and quality of health care services of the major macroeconomic and health
sector police reforms initiated by the Central & State Govt. in Macroeconomic Adjustment Policies and Health Sector
Reforms: Impact Access to Utilization and quality of Health Care, a multi-country study funded by International
Development Research Center, Ottawa, Canada. Facilitate peripheral workers for formation of village health
committees. Facilitate training for volunteers, Change Agents, and adolescent girls on MCH care and Growth
monitoring. Base line & end line KAP studies among change agent (mother in the reproductive age).

Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation with IRCS, OXFAM (India) November 1999 to October 2002
Program design, implementation and monitoring plan to achieve the objectives of the program. Conduct need
assessment for beneficiary selection and distribution of the humanitarian aid. Coordinate with key Govt. officials at
different level for smooth execution of the multipurpose Cyclone shelter. Formation of DPC at the Cyclone shelter
sites to monitor the construction activities and subsequent maintenance & facilitating rehabilitation activities. Work
closely with public health engineering Department (PHED), International Hygiene Promoter, partners and district
administration of cyclone affected districts to improve quality of WASH program. Coordinate with PHED and Oxfam
partners for joint planning, monitoring and review. Development of training materials on WASH. Collaborate with
PHED staffs and co-ordinate works with other organizations who are involved in hygiene promotion activities and
joint training to ensure god standards. Supportive supervision hands-on training and providing feedback for
improving WASH work closely with public health team develop simple system for monitoring activities and inform
relevant people about the changes. Prepare report on key learning & lessons for stakeholders & documentation of
initiatives undertaken. 

Medical Officer January 1992 to December 1994


Conducted health education sessions and awareness camps in the community and providing clinical services to Station
School Student in the project area. Ensure immunization and family-planning camps in liaison with local Primary
Health Center (PHC) under international program of child labor.
