Analyzing Your Leadership Strengths & Weaknesses

Purpose of Assignment
• The purpose of this assignment is to help students understand their leadership strengths
and weaknesses
• To understand the student’s current status and to use that as a baseline to establish growth
and development in leadership aspirations
• To establish the student’s current leadership style

Instructions
1. This is NOT a research assignment or a group assignment - it is an individual assignment
2. Read the instructions for each survey before starting
3. Take all of the surveys. Each one should take no longer than 20 minutes.
4. Answer all of the questions at your initial sitting to be able to obtain the self-assessment
result.
5. Take a screenshot of your final results to verify that you took the surveys and to include
in your written report.
6. A soft copy including 1. Cover Page, 2. Rubric, 3. Reflections according to the Rubric,
and 4. Copies of all of the survey results must be submitted to BlackBoard

Report
1. Write a report based on your scores, findings, and analysis.
2. Include a Cover Page with you:

i. Name
ii. student number
iii. course name
iv. section number
v. instructor’s name. Note: make it professional. Ensure that all of the information
is spelled correctly.

3. Rubric with your name, student number, section


4. An introduction that explains what the report is about in at least 5 sentences.
5. A copy of all of each test scores
6. Analysis of each test results. Write in complete sentences and organize your answers
according to the tests, answers and analysis. Provide at least 5 sentences per analysis.

7. Reflect on your overall strengths using the information/results provided for each test.

2. Emotional Intelligence Test (EI)

The Global Emotional Intelligence Test - GEIT, uses 40 questions, which are derived from the Global EI
Capability Assessment instrument, which contains 158 items. These are based on Goleman's four
quadrants Emotional Intelligence Competency Model (2002). Short EI quizzes such as the GEIT are
meant to be fun, and to give you a guide to which EI areas you are doing well in and those you should
focus on for your professional and personal development.
