TEACHER COMMENTS
Pablo has made a good start to this year in US6 and he has worked very hard in class. He is quite a quiet student, a bit shy, but he participates well and fully, has
shown lots of potential, and, importantly, a desire to improve! He is also doing well with regards to the work we are doing on some specific aspects of pronunciation.
His combined reading/use of English and his writing marks are still a bit lower than hoped for at this level (4-5), but with continued effort and focus on the feedback
which I have given, he has time before June to improve these. It will be even more important to do additional study and exam practice before the mock exams in
February. I strongly recommend using the self study sheet which I prepared for the level (see also the two links below) as well as reading in English, this being a great
way to see well written English which can help students to improve. I also recommend the British Council website, which offers all sorts of opportunities for practising
English, as well as watching films and series in English. Well done Pablo, keep working hard and enjoy learning as much as you can! And Happy Christmas!

TEACHER COMMENTS
Pablo has continued to work hard in class, but despite some reasonable marks, his use of English mock exam result was lower than hoped for at this time in US6 (R
6.8, U/E 3.1, L 6, 6.8, S 6) which means a borderline fail at 57%. I do believe him to be capable, but unless he is willing and able to invest a great deal of time and
effort, not only in class, but also outside, he may find it difficult to reach the marks necessary to pass the ?First Certificate? in June. So it is clear where much of his
focus needs to be directed! My recommendations are the same as those I made in December. I strongly advise using the self-study sheet which I prepared for the
level (see also the two links below) as well as reading in English, this being a great way to see well written English which can help students to improve. The Flo-joe
website offers lots of exam practice and the British Council website offers all sorts of opportunities for practising English. In addition, watching films and series in
English develops listening skills and comprehension. Pablo, keep working hard and enjoy learning as much as you can and good luck in term three! https://www.flo-
