SST Sports Weekend 2021

General Rules and Regulation


 Registration is Free and Teams will be registered on first come first serve basis.
 Every team should report at least 15 minutes before the starting time.
 Team reaching late will be disqualified for that match and the opposing team will get the walk
over for that match.
 Bringing UMT ID card is compulsory. Only SST students, Staff and Faculty Members can
participate. No other student, staff or faculty members from any other schools are allowed
to play.
 Only current students of SST can play, Passed outs and Alumni are not allowed to play.
 If any team is found guilty of playing any outsiders, the team will be disqualified from the
tournament.
 Organizing Committee will be responsible to provide Balls (cricket), shuttles (Badminton), ping
pong balls (Table Tennis), Football (Futsal)
 All players should be in proper playing kit (joggers, trouser, jeans and t- shirt). Shalwar Kameez
is not allowed.
 The general rules will be described by the field umpire or referee and decision of organizing
committee will be considered final.
 One player can only play from one team of a game.
 One player can play multiple games but if there is any overlapping in schedules of both games
player can opt only one game, No rescheduling will be made other than final rounds.
 Classes are your responsibility, we are not responsible for your classes or any other grading
activity related to your study.
 No Team of Cricket or Futsal will be registered which will not have at
least one faculty/staff member of SST in the team. (Faculty/Staff can be
a representative only)

Rules and Regulation of SST Cricket League Season 4
 Each team consists of 9 players plus 02 substitute player.
 No Team will be registered which will not have at least one faculty/staff member of SST in
the team. (Faculty/Staff can be a representative only)
 Every match will be played for at least four over each side. Semifinals and Final will be of 5
overs
 No player is allowed to bowl two overs until Group Stage. In semifinals and final one bawler
from team can bowl 2 overs.
 Every team should report at least 15 minutes before the starting time.
 5 minutes break will be allowed between the innings.
 Cricket is considered to be a game played by gentlemen therefore the decision of the umpire in
all regards will be the final and cannot be challenged.
 Team reaching late will be disqualified for that match and the opposing team will get the walk
over for that match.
 Waist high full toss will be declared no ball (either played or not)
 Free hit will be awarded in case of no ball (overstepping, waist high, side line).
 In case of draw, super over will decide the winner.
 In case of tie among teams of pool to qualify for Semifinals, a rematch will be played between
the two.
 A bowler will be disqualified from the match, if he will bowl two waist high full toss in an over.
 Jerk is strictly not allowed.

Rules and Regulation of Badminton
 Only doubles games will be played in this season.
 One player can be part of only one team.
 Matches will be decided on the bases of draws.
 All matches will be knock-out matches.
 Games are played to 21 points.
 10 minute timed games.
 Rally scoring is used (a point is scored on every serve).
 If the receiving team wins the rally, it scores a point and will serve the next point.
 At 20 all, the side which gains a 2 point lead first, wins the game.
 At 24 all, the side scoring the 25th point, wins the game.
 Players score their own games. Court etiquette is to announce the score prior to the serve.
 Failure to announce the score prior to serving will result in a Re-serve, not a loss of serve. If
the
Shuttle is played by the receiver, the game shall continue.

*There is only one serve in doubles. Teams need to ensure that all four players rotate the
serve.

 Doubles serving court is short and wide.


 Doubles playing court changes to long and wide following the serve.
 Each time the serving team scores a point, the same server serves the next serve from the
other side of their court.
 No player ever receives two consecutive serves.
 The serving team changes service courts only after scoring a point.
 A receiving team never changes courts.
 When the receiving team wins the rally, their server is determined by whether their score is
“even” (right side serves) or “odd” (left side serves).
 Only the player served to may receive the service.
 Non-serving partner may stand anywhere on the court (may not obstruct the receiving
player’s vision)
PLAYING COURTESIES

 If in doubt about the bird’s landing, always call it in favor of your opponent.
 If there is any question of you fouling at the net, be sure to call if against yourself.
 If there is any question about you throwing the bird, be quick to call the throw.
 Do not question calls of your opponent.
 Do not smash at your opponent if the point could easily be won by placing the bird elsewhere.

Rules and Regulation of Table Tennis
 Only doubles games will be played in this season.
 Mix doubles are not allowed, Separate games for boys and girls will be played.
 One player can be part of only one team.
 Matches will be decided on the bases of draws.
 All matches will be knockout matches
 Games are played to 21 points.
 10 minute timed games.

I. Good Service

 A good service is delivered by projecting the ball from the free hand, which must start from
above the playing surface. The ball must be resting in the palm of the free hand. The ball is
tossed into the air.
 As it starts to descend, the ball is struck so that it touches the server’s court first and then,
passing directly over or around the net, touches the receiver’s court. At the instant of contact
of the racquet on the ball in service, both handle and ball must be behind the end line of the
server’s court. It must touch first the right half of the server’s court or the centerline on the
server’s side of the net and then, passing directly over or around the net, touch the right half
of the receiver’s court or the center line on the receiver’s side of the table.

II. Choice of Order of Play

 The team winning a coin toss has the option of choosing:


o The choice of ends
o The right to receive or serve first
o The right to require the losing team to make the first choice
o After choice A & B have been made, the other team makes the remaining choice.

III. Order of Service

 The first five services must be delivered by the serving partner (Player 1) of the pair who has
the right to do so. The service must be received by the receiving partner (Player 3) of the
opposing pair.
 The second five services must be delivered by the receiver of the first five services (Player 3)
and received by the partner of the server (Player 2) of the first five services.
 The third five services must be delivered by the partner of the first five services (Player 2) and
received by the partner of the server (Player 4) of the first five services.
 The fourth five services must be delivered by the partner of the receiver (Player 4) of the first
five services and received by the server (Player 1) of the first five services.
 The next five services start over as in Rule A of “Order of Service”

IV. Points

 A point is awarded to the opponent in the following circumstances:


o Failure to make a good service, unless a let is declared

o Failure to make a good return of a good service or a good return made by the
opponent, unless a let is declared
o If the player, the racquet, or anything that the player wears or carries touches the net
or its supports while the ball is in play.
o If the player, the racquet, or any wearing apparel moves the playing surface while the
ball is in play or touches the net or its supports
o If the player’s free hand touches the playing surface while the ball is in play
o If, after being struck by the opponent, the ball comes in contact with the player or
anything the player wears or carries before it has passed over the end lines or
sidelines, not yet having touched the playing surface on the player’s side of the table.
o If at any time the player volleys the ball – that is before the ball hits the table top –
except as provided in Rule A under “Let” (below).

V. Let

 A let ball, which is then replayed, is called in the following cases:


 If the served ball, in passing over the net, touches it or its supports, if the service would
otherwise have been good or volleyed by the receiver.
 If a service is delivered when the receiver is not ready
 If either player is prevented by an accident not under his/her control from serving a good
service or making a good return
 If either player gives up a point, as provided in Rules C-G under “Points”, owing to an
accident not within his/her control.

Rules and Regulation of Futsal
 All basic futsal rules apply.
 No Team will be registered which will not have at least one faculty/staff member of SST
in the team. (Faculty/Staff can be a representative only)
 Match consisting of two halves will be of 20 mins.
 Team will consist of 5 players (1 goal keeper and 4 players) 2 substitutes (subs) can be
enlisted.
 Unlimited rolling subs are allowed.
 Goalkeepers have only four seconds in which to play the ball, with either their hands or feet,
and may not touch it again if it has been deliberately played to them by a team-mate without
an opponent playing or touching it.
 Goalkeepers are free to play anywhere on the pitch and throw the ball beyond the halfway
line
 Two yellow cards or one red card will lead to one match suspension
 Unlike 11-a-side football, goals may not be scored directly from the kick-off in futsal and
there is no offside.
