LIFE: PLANTS

● List down 10 facts you find interesting about plants based on this documentary. Add a short
explanation for each fact.
- Plants have been in our world long before the age of humans and they were able to live,
thrive, and survive all on their own with their intricate processes.
- Just like all living things, plants depend on their survival by utilizing basic necessities that
are found in the environment such as food, light, water, and air.
- Plants have adapted their anatomy and physiology to their environment using
specialized structures in order to acquire the materials needed for their survival and to
provide assistance for their daily processes.
- Whenever their environment is deprived of the essential nutrients needed by the plants,
they are capable of going to extreme measures such as transforming themselves into
hunters by capturing small insects or becoming parasitic in nature by sabotaging the
nutrients from other organisms.
- One of the main purposes of plants is to be able to maintain their existence as a species
by means of reproduction through pollination. This is done with the help of flowers that
are practically made for this role by having characteristics that are attractive to living
pollinators.
- Aside from the help of animals, other abiotic factors such as the wind and water also aid
in the pollination of plants by transporting the seeds in far places until they reach their
recipient flower.
- The diversity of plants is also influenced by the morphological variations happening in
their environment. Some of these include high altitude, scorching weather, freezing
conditions, and seasonal changes.
- The ability of the plants to live even in the most impractical conditions is also fascinating.
Habitats such as the cliffsides, underwater, or in the desert pose several difficulties that
put an effort into their survival.
- All living things depend on plants because we also acquire the materials necessary for
our survival from them. This implies that we must be responsible for taking care of their
welfare and avoid performing any activities that can disrupt their processes.
- Understanding the diversity of plants helps us to understand their complexity and how
they managed to thrive in our world even in prehistoric times. This documentary proves
that these organisms are capable of surviving on their own and coexisting with their
environment efficiently.

● Write a short insight (maximum of 100 words) about plants based on the documentary.
- Plants are one of God’s intelligent creations that manage to adapt to their surroundings
throughout their lives and are able to coexist with other organisms in unity. The
relationship between plants and their environment has its own ecological advantage that
is responsible for their continued existence and progressive development. Their ability to
withstand even the harshest conditions makes them capable of their own survival and
perform meticulous processes for their benefit. Since primitive ages, they are able to

thrive independently even without the help of humans, but it is our duty to protect them
because we cannot live without them.
