Performance Task:
GOAL- Your goal is to give an exposition on specific real-world applications of circular functions and/or polar coordinates. The output will be in the form of a
poster and/ or models to illustrate these applications, together with a written discussion of the application you have chosen. The output will be presented via zoom,
to be participated in by the different groups.
ROLE- You and your classmates will work in groups of three to five persons. Each group will have a designated leader, who will identify the different tasks to be
done and distribute these among the members of the group. The group members can alternate in discussing what the project is about during the presentation.
AUDIENCE- The target audience consists of your classmates, students from other classes and your mathematics teachers.
SITUATION- Many students dislike studying Mathematics concepts claiming they are difficult and have no application to their lives. To convince the students that
this is not the case, you are to choose real-world applications of Mathematics , specifically, the circular functions or the polar coordinate system, which will show
how important these concepts are.
PRODUCT- A visual presentation of a real-world application of either the circular functions or polar coordinates. The presentation should include at least a poster,
and may include models depicting the chosen applications.
The output of the different groups will be presented via zoom.
A written report discussing the applications and how the chosen concepts are applied will also be submitted.
