Have you ever tried riding in a Ferris Wheel? Ferris Wheel have one gondola
where you can sit together with your companions to enjoy the view. People go
inside the gondola one group at a time. In this way you experience going up
higher in the Ferris wheel, also one level at a time. When all the gondolas have
been occupied, it is time for the Ferris wheel to rotate in full. You will have a great
time looking at the breathtaking view of the park and surrounding areas, specially
when you reach the top. Music, too has different levels. When you know and
when you can sing all levels that are good for your voice, you can sing just about
any song.

What is Pitch?
 In music the pitch of a sound means how high or low a note is.
 Musical pitches are relative, any note is higher or lower than another.
 It is the degree of relative highness or lowness of a sound.

Low Pitch – sounds that are deep, thick, heavy and hollow.
The following are example of low pitch sound. (Refer to your book on page 30 for the other examples)

High Pitch – sounds that are thin, shrill, or sharp are high pitch.

What are high and low pitches in a person’s voice?

Pitch can be heard from a person’s voice while he or she is talking or singing. A person’s singing and speaking voices
maybe high, medium-high, medium-low, or low pitch. A relax speaker may produce a low sound. The speaking voice of a
speaker who is excited, angry or tense may sound high. The singing voice maybe low and high to moderately high. The
pitch of a person’s singing voice can be identified by the person’s voice range and the kinds of songs a person usually
sings.
