JOURNAL 2

POMODORO

When I got to know the Pomodoro Technique and experienced it first hand, I think it is
really a good technique to avoid procrastination and piling of activities. I used this technique not
just with studying but also with the activities and tasks given. During the past week, I found it
very effective. It lessen my worries and anxiety knowing that deadlines are fast approaching. It
allows me to study my subject and do my activities in a timely manner.

DAY 8 (September 27,2021)

I spent the eight day with nothing much do. I let my brain and body rest for a stressful week. I
just spent a 45 minutes focused mode and 10 minutes diffuse mode once by doing the given
activities and study for next day’s short quiz.

DAY 9 (September 28,2021)

During my ninth day of using Pomodoro, my routine with the things I should do and finish fall
into places. I spent the day attending my class and advanced read for the next topic to be
discussed the following day. I used the 25 minutes focused mode and 5 minutes diffused mode
twice.

DAY 10 (September 29,2021)

I started my night routine with answering some of the given activities of other subjects and set
time for my Pomodoro Technique. I started the Pomodoro focused mode at 9:00-9:25. After that
I took a 5 minutes break and back at focused mode again at 9:30 up until 9:55 pm and took
another 5 minutes break. I studied my Intermediate Accounting 1 subject because I have a quiz
the next day.

DAY 11 (September 30,2021)

During the eleventh day, I spent the day reviewing for my Midterms Exam on Intermediate
Accounting 1. I used the 45 minutes focused mode and 10 minutes diffuse mode for four times. I
advanced read for my Accounting Information subject. I used the 25 minutes focused mode and
5 minutes diffused mode. I repeat the technique only once.

DAY 12 (October 1,2021)

Our class was cancelled to give us more time to prepare and study for our Midterms exam on
Intermediate Accounting. During the day, I did my given activities from other subjects and
viewed some videos on our Statistical Software for tomorrow’s class. I started studying for my
Midterms Exam at 9:00 pm and applied the 45 minutes focused mode and 10 minutes diffused
mode four times.

DAY 13 (October 2,2021)

My morning class ended at 11:30pm. After eating my lunch, I started studying for my
Intermediate Accounting at 2:00 pm and applied the 45 minutes focused mode and 10 minutes
diffused mode thrice. Later that night, I answered the given activity on my Principles and
Methods of Teaching Accounting subject and viewed some videos as basis on our lectures.

DAY 14 (October 3,2021)

I spent the whole day studying my Intermediate Accounting 1 subject because I do have my
midterms exam the next day. I used the 45 minutes focused mode and 10 minutes diffused mode
five times. With these method, it allows me to focus on topics that I missed to review during my
quizzes.

All in all, I was surprised to find that I actually really liked the Pomodoro Technique, and
I think it lived up to its promises of making me more focused and productive. I’m planning on
using it on those days when there’s nothing in my calendar.
