ROLES OF AND RESPONSIBILITIES BEING PLACEMENT MENTOR

1. For the 2020 batch UG and PG programes the students will be registered for each
placement drive by default. Being a placement mentor, we have to ensure that
student may not deregister him/ her without discussing the concern with you and
finally you have to consult the parents of student regarding the same and record the
reason as per the format available. (Link to check registration detail – UMS Navigation

Registration Status).
2. You can check the round wise performance of your placement mentees by using
link UMS Navigation –> Division of Career Services -> Placement Portal -> Reports ->
Round wise analysis of student performance).
3. In case student is having reappears or backlogs motivate the student to clear the
same at the earliest as it will not let the student to sit in no. of placement drives.
4. The PEP classes of students have already started. As per the UMS announcement
attendance of PEP classes is going to added in overall attendance of student. Being a
placement mentor, we have to ensure that student must attend each and every PEP

5. University conducts/ hosts career enhancement tests like AMCAT, CoCubes from
time to time. Make ensure your students must participate in these tests as companies
are shortlisting the students on the basis of performance in these tests also.
6. The university also host the technical events conducted by IT giants like SAP, TCS,
Infosys, Microsoft, Google, CodeChef, Hackerrank, Facebook etc from time to time.
Being placement mentor, we have to ensure that student must not waste these
opportunities as these events can be gateway to join dream companies.

7. Motive your students go for job skill oriented certification which can pave his way
in industry. (Azure, AWS, Python, Data Analytics etc.)
8. A mentoring sheet has been shared here with you in which you can maintain record
of each individual student mentored by you. (Academic, tests, performance in each
drive).
9. You have to fix a weekly interaction slot with your mentees to get status of their
placement scenario.
10. Being a placement mentor keep one-page CV of your placement mentees with
you (format is available with students).
11. Take a feedback from students after each and every drive so corrective action can
be taken well in time.

12. Keep regular check on UMS announcements and emails regarding update on
Training and Placement related activities.

13. After every placement drive interact with student and maintain a question bank
regarding the questions asked during drive which you can share with students for
upcoming drives also.
