Post Philosophy Statement2

The previous statement is pretty much the same but maybe a little different. The

educational philosophy and psychological orientations that dictate my beliefs would be

humanism and information processing. Humanism is to understand the goodness of children,

their free will and ability to reason. The informative processing is to help me understand the

mind of children and how it works. The perceptions of an effective educator is creativity, positive

attitude, to be prepared, have a connection with the students and to have respect. I still believe

these fit according to me. I want to let students have the ability to reason or question things. I do

not want students to be told they cannot because not everyone in the world has the right answers.

Some are more educated than others and if a students has that; I want them to use their

knowledge. I want to pursue teaching to help children who need guidance not only education and

help their minds expand and grow at young age. I do not really think this answer of mine will

change because before going into learning about education I knew this is why I want to teach. As

they learn and grow up in life if they become educated in a variety of subjects, when someone

tries to come at them with false information they can use their knowledge to an advantage and

will help others not run over them. Children, with learning disabilities are often neglected and

looked down upon by the society. They often receive negative feedback from schools and hence

refuse to develop positive cognitions to the outside world. This is wrong. As humans, it is but

their basic right to an equal opportunity of receiving education. Special education basically

refers to “educational programs and practices designed for students- who are handicapped or

gifted, with mental, physical or emotional disabilities and require special teaching approaches,

equipment or care within or outside a regular classroom. The specific role of the special

education teacher is to hep those with disabilities learn and find out what best works for them. As

well as determining if who and what disability an individual may have. The teacher is also their

to help them learn just like any other student or general education student. Students with

disabilities in my opinion best learn visually, auditory and with direct instruction all combined.

having these all together can help them understand the lesson better rather than just one way. the

goals I have for special education students is to be able to learn just like anyone else and to be

accepted just as the rest of us. The main goal I have is for them to be able to succeed. Just

because someone has a disability doesn’t mean he or she cannot have success in their life. The

qualities a special education teacher should have the ability to think out of the box and combine

creativity, interest and passion. I think these qualities would makings of a fine special education

teacher. The ability to put difficult concepts in plain and interesting words or display complicity

in a simple form is the most effective trait. Yes I believe that all students can learn. It may takes

more time for others but anyone can do it. I think teachers owe them a realistic assessment of

their work so that they can continue to push themselves further and further. Also, they owe them

opportunities to engage in deeply important issues to develop critical thinking skills and a social

consciousness that will serve them throughout their lives. Teachers owe them increased, access,

opportunity, and personal growth. Mostly love and concern for their well-being that is so great to

where they earn the grades they deserve.
