Lesson Topic:

«Food»

Objectives:

- to activate the use of thematic vocabulary (fruit and vegetables, food

and drinks);

- to teach the pupils to work in groups and pairs;

- to train and improve pupils’ speaking, reading and writing skills;

- to train to understand the main points in extended talk on the topic

- to foster the pupils to get interested in learning English (to solve

puzzles, to guess riddles, etc);

- to teach the pupils to work in groups and pairs;

Procedure.

I. Greeting

T: - Good morning, students!

Ss: - Good morning, teacher!

T: - Glad to see you!

Ss: - Glad to see you too!

T: I see you are in a good mood. Am I right?

Ss: Yes, that’s true. We are in a good mood, And what about you?

T: I am in a good mood too. Let’s begin our lesson. Look at the pictures on the
blackboard and try to guess the topic of the lesson. Use the first letters of the
words.

Ss: Will it be about food?

T: Yes, that’s true. On today`s lesson we`re going to speak about food. So, let`s
start.

Although I may have eyes, I cannot see.

III Main part

Task 1

T: your task is to decide whether these words come from an animal or plant origin or is connected to
seafood. Let`s devide into groups of four. Each group will have a certain task. Do it as quickly as
possible.

Steak, bread, milk chocolate, tuna, chicken,pork, shrimp, jam, salmon, cherry pie,ice cream, orange
juice, pears, peas, lamb, steak, chips , butter, strawberries.

T: you know that nouns are divided into two groups: countable and uncountable.

Countable nouns can be counted, e.g. an apple, two apples, three apples, etc.
