C. Present Status: Newly Organized Group

 VISSION
The Group will encourage other IP Women to continue their lives whatever the
situation they had, by developing their potentials and capabilities through the joint
efforts of its members which will be guided by its group goals.

MISSION
To effect changes on the lives of IP Women and make a venue for them to
develop their interpersonal, social, psychological and mental aspects and have
fun in their journey through life and learn from their mistakes
GOAL
At the end of the Termination on December 06, 2020, the group of IP Women will
realize their capabilities, straights and become an effective part of the society.
II. Historical Background
The third year Social Work students of MMG College are tasked to conduct
Social Group Work. The Group of Students were legally deployed from their school
under the guidance of their assigned instructor. After the deployment the Group chose
purok Bantilan as their target community to organize a new group. The students sent
letters to the Barangay to ask permission about the background of its people and ask
permission to conduct group work on their community and it was approved, the letters
were sent to the Social welfare of the barangay who is assigned to hold the members of
the said group of purok Bantilan. The secretary asked the students about the kind of
group they want to organize the students chose IP Women or Indigenous People
Women. The secretary of the Purok chairman agreed the ideal target respondents.
Since there are large number of IP women in Purok Bantilan.
According to Ma’am Merlyn as the Social welfare of the barangay and the
president of the said group she always mentioned that some of the members of the IP
women in Purok Bantilan practices to plant seeds so that they have something to sell
and get some extra income. Ma’am Merlyn noticed that some of her people in their
Purok know how to plant and she decided to proposed a project the will help her tribe to
get some extra income continuously.
Before we entered on their barangay we first went through many processes such
as passing the letter and talking to the barangay kapitan so that he would know what
project we are going to do and we can get some support from the barangay. When we
were given permission to hold the gathering we had a conversation about the project
and some members told that they had previously had a gardening project but they could
not continue it and one of the big impact on them because they used to have different
opportunity before because of the project until we came and proposed a project that will
bring back their social functioning.
III. Individual Problem
The Social Work Third year students were undergo individual interviews to each
member of the group using the intake sheet tool of social work to identify their problems.
1. Mila, 53 years old, married and no occupation. She wanted to continue the project
they have so that it will help her to earn small income.
2. Jessa, 20 years old, married and a Housewife. Due to financial stability she could
not proceed to study so that she married at the very young age and she started to
learn how to plant so that it will give her more income.
3. Saria, 54 years old, married and no occupation, she is a job seeker when she were
young in order to sustain her family needs but due to poverty she will choose to
stay and join the project they started.
4. Myrna, 37 years old, married and working as a house maid in Sinawal, due to
unsustainable budget because of the pandemic she also give some time on their
past project and she want to bring back the program they have.
5. Rosalie, 65 years old, widowed and no occupation, but at her age she always
imagined a garden that will help her and her tribe because there is a wide land that
will be there place for gardening.
6. Delta, 40 years old, married, her problem is financial due to poverty and she said
that the project is a big help for her.
7. Analiza, 30, Married and no occupation. She wanted to build a vegetable garden
and she wanted to sell it in town side area in Sinawal and she is in need of
financial.
8. Kimberly, 30 years old, married and no occupation. She has financial problem and
find ways to earn money.
9. Crisilda, 28 years old, married and have occupation. She is a house maid but the
salary is not enough for her to sustain there family needs, and now she has a
financial problem.
10. Lorna, 31 years old, married and have occupation but she join in the program that
ma’am Merlyn has because Lorna also is in need of financial.
11. Nessar Mae, 19 years old married and have no occupation and have a financial
problem.
12. Jersa, 39 years old, married and no occupation due to pandemic she use to stay at
their home and started planting vegetables that will alleviate her family in this crisis
and Jersa is in need of financial.
IV. Group Case Study
Presenting the Problem of the Group
IP Women sought financial assistance for the project that they started last year
but due to financial instability they don’t have enough fund to pursue the project they are
started. Also, asked for other possible services the will help their community gardening
project. They are living in Purok Bantilan, Barangay Sinawal, General Santos City.
Because of poverty they don’t have capacity and felt intimidated to continue their project
or the community gardening, some of them decided to stop and most of them chose to
find way so that they can help their family to provide their daily needs.
IP Women showed great motivation and interest to participate and cooperate for
referral for their gardening tools or any equipment that they will use to cultivate land for
planting.
The potential solution for IP Women’s problem is quite easy because the
resources and services that could help them are just available nearby. Since they are
qualified to avail of such services, and the money that they will receive will be a big help
for them to buy gardening tools and extra seeds.
If IP Women’s problem will not addressed immediately, it will caused them
emotional stress, and also it will affect their family and other problems may came up. On
the other hand, if their problem will properly catered, it will be a big help for them and for
their family, especially to their children and community.
Planning
Goal: From November 8 to December 15, the group will avail Equipment tools, seeds
needed for gardening and possible services that will help them to sustain their family
needs.

The meeting was led by the Social Work Group leader; there was a nomination
before the discussion of the meeting.
On the first day of Agenda, it was started by an opening prayer by Jennifer
Carried followed by the welcome address of the Purok Chairman Mr. Monday then after
that, the Social work Students formally introduce themselves and it started its purpose
to the IP Women participants.

representative to discuss the importance of third meeting, after that Ma’am Merlyn also

By the way guys, karun adlawa naa tay meeting, so karun ang atung

na duha ka sako na empty plastic bottles, kini siya kay idea para manindot

nato ug klasi-klasi nga kulay. Para nindot siya tan-awon.
Jason Ang kailangan lang nato kay gunting ug pintura, ug yaw mo kabalaka kay
naa man mi mag tudlo sa inyuhang tanan kung unsaon paghimo ug pag pintura sa mga
plastic bottles na bulak ug magtabang para mapadali nato ni himo tanan. Ug pwede na

Dhoroty joy ok guys, palihog duol mo tanan kay naa tay mga meryenda diria , mag

Jonathan hello sa tanan, kay tapos naman atong pag meryenda ug hapon na,
hangtod na lang sa diria atong activities kay hapon naman kaayo. Balik na
lang pud mi nga sunod na adlaw ug ipahibalo lang namo kay maam

On the Six meeting, it was led by Mr, Samano there was a meeting and

On the Six session, it was started by an opening prayer of OSY group Auditor
followed by the SW representative to discuss the importance of Six meeting. After that
we provided free mails the members together with social work students for having a last
socialization with the group.
 OSY auditor- (who lead the prayer for the last session of the group)
SW representative- discussing how important their group and what are those
reasons why the social work students crate group concerning their problems to provide
them help for their problem.
SW students- the social work students offered free mails together with the groups
as a chance to have socialization again with them.
SW students- the students were terminated each of their assigned client and
lastly to the group they created and handled.
