I. DEFINITION/ EXPOUND

Direction: Give the definition or explanation of the following terms.

1. Science: the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic


study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through
observation and experiment.
2. Technology:  the application of scientific knowledge to the practical aims of
human life or, as it is sometimes phrased, to the change and manipulation of the
human environment.
3. Scientific Revolution: refers to the resurrection of modern-day science. This
can be said to have happened when developments in various branches of
studies, especially in chemistry, physics, math, astrophysics and biology,
completely transformed the way of doing many things.
4. Science as an idea: is an explanation for how something works, or the truth
about some aspect of the world, that was figured out using the scientific process
5. Science as an intellectual activity: is designed to discover information about
the natural world in which humans live and to discover the ways in which this
information can be organized into meaningful patterns. A primary aim of science
is to collect facts (data).
6. Science as a body of knowledge: Science is a body of knowledge, which
is built up through experimental testing of ideas. It is a practical way of finding
reliable answers to questions we may ask about the world around us. The aims
of primary science can be broadly divided into two categories: ... Science is a

knowledge and world view. Scientific knowledge and the procedures used by
scientists influence the way many individuals in society think about themselves,
