Accomplishments:

 AsTES GATE Dance Troupe: participation of 4th and 5th graders


 AsTES GATE Choir: participation of 4th and 5th graders
 Third year of Retaining of Custodial Funding: The school has opted to be a “Self-Cleaning” school
in efforts to reallocate funding toward the purchase of instructional resources, equipment and
furniture which further in enhanced the overall learning environment.
 GDOE Connected Learner Kumunidat and GDOE Standards Implementation Course: Five
teachers actively participated and completed the course with focus on understanding and drafting
a plan to implement the GDOE Tech Standards in their respective classrooms and sharing the plan
with the school.
 TCEA Robotics Arena Contest 2020: Participation of three teams of students from 4th and 5th
graders; also had the most volunteer coaches for this activity.

Exemplary Programs:

 EARLY BIRD INTERVENTION PROGRAM: Students are to report to their EBIP teachers for an hour
in the morning to work on Mobymax, a Standards-Based online program designed to close
learning gaps by targeting critical skills. This year, more than 150 students participated in this
program and a major improvement in teachers with Reading ability and overall academic
achievement.
 GATE: Small groups of 12 gifted students meet 180 minutes per week in the GATE Resource Room.
Students are provided with a variety of learning skills in the areas of problem-solving inquiry
techniques, creativity, higher levels of thinking, and acceleration. Also integrated throughout this
program are activities in the affective domain that involve feelings, values, social responsibilities
and self-esteem.
 ROBOTICS: An after-school club for 3-5th grade students using the Lego EV3 in preparation for the
Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA) Arena Contest, an annual regional robotics
competition between 4th grades to high school.

Special Awards:

 2020 National Conference in Innovative Teaching Strategies: Two Teachers selected to attend
the conference in Tampa, Florida.
 T-Galleria Ornament Decorating Contest: The school was awarded “Most Creative”.
 PAEMST (Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching): One teacher
was nominated.
ACT Aspire Performance Levels
In Need of Support Students scored substantially below the ACT Readiness Benchmark
Close Students scored below but near the ACT Readiness Benchmark
Ready Students met the ACT Readiness Benchmark and are on target
for 50% or higher likelihood of college course success by Grade 11
Exemplary Students performed above ACT Readiness Benchmark

Due to the emergency shut down of schools in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, students did not take the ACT
Aspire for SY 19-20 and therefore the data reflected is from previous years.
