1. The drawwork and disc brake mechanism are inspected in accordance with
API SPEC 7F-2010,API SPEC 7K-2015 and API RP 7L-1995 (R2012), details
of the inpsection contents and found problems are in the annex.
2.The eddy current brake is inspected according to the "Product Manual",
details of the inpsection contents and found problems are in the annex.
3. The crown block inspection is insepcted according to API RP 4G , API RP
8B, and API RP 9B, details of the inpsection contents and found problems are
in the annex.
4. The traveling block is inspected in accordance with API RP 8B and API RP
9B, details of the inpsection contents and found problems are in the annex.
5.The hook is inspected in accordance with API RP 8B, details of the

Description
1. Brief introduction for inspection items
October, 2018, Sichuan Kete Testing Technology Co., Ltd. was commissioned by Shanghai Auman
Petroleum Equipment Co., Ltd. to inspect the ZJ50D drilling rig of Egypt Advanced Energy System
(ADES). The inspection team consists of two inspection engineers. The division of duties is as
follows:
◆ Equipment inspection engineer, who responsible for equipment inspection;
◆ DNT inspection engineer, who responsible for DNT inspection.

2. Inspection contents
1). Document review: The inspection project involves the nameplate, instruction manual, use and
maintenance records, major event records and factory certificate of the equipment;
2). Crown block CAT III inspection;
3). Travelling block CAT III inspection and non-destructive testing of key parts;
4). Hook CAT III inspection and non-destructive testing of key parts;
5). Swivel CAT III inspection and non-destructive testing of key parts;
6). Drawwork CAT III inspection and non-destructive testing of key parts;
7). CAT III inspection of disc brake mechanism;
8). CAT IV inspection of turntables and transmissions;
9). Mud pumps CAT III inspection
10). Deadline anchor CAT III inspection
3. Inspection environment
Temperature was 25℃~35℃, when rig was assembly.
4. Inspection Methods
Visual inspection
DNT inspection and etc.
The rig was in dis-assembly and spreading status as carrying on inspection service. Inspection
engineers performed static inspection, DNT inspection, documents review and etc. according to the
requirement of contract to meet API and relevant standard requirements.

Inspection the problems found
1. Clutch between drawwork and electromagnetic eddy current brake is serious wear and poor
lubrication.
2. Low speed clutch oil abnormal noise.
3. High and low clutch capsules began to crack.
4. There is a defect in the drum rope groove, which will accelerate the damage of the wire
rope.
5. Roller side plate wear 5mm, there may be confusion rope.
6. Fast rope baffle roller wear is serious.
7. Brake disc beating is larger, it is recommended to check bearings.
8. The brake system is seriously worn; the clamp body is not flexible, and the jamming
resistance is serious.
9. The seal parts of brake system should be replaced for used more than 2 years.
10. The brake system has no NDT data, it should be disintegrated and cleaned thoroughly.
11. The gear shifting mechanism is seriously worn and the guide teeth are seriously worn out.
12. The wear of the spindle empty sleeve sprocket has exceeded 5%, indicating obvious steps.
13. Sprcoket is cracked in the low speed end chain of input shaft.
14.The oil pump chain and sprocket have been seriously worn out.
15. Inertia brake pad wear; capsule aging.
16. The lubrication system is completely failure, and valve groups and pipelines are missing.

5. Drive shaft bearing clearance: 0.36mm (left side); 0.35mm (right side).
6. Crankshaft bearing clearance: 0.42mm (left inner side); 0.38mm (left outer side); 0.41mm
(right inner side); 0.42mm (right outer side).
7. The gear meshing clearance is 1.15mm, which exceeds the requirements of the Instruction
Manual.
8. The pump center rod on the left and the middle are seriously corroded.
9. Some of the crosshead pin bolts are loose, the bolts are obviously elongated and need to be
replaced.
10. Anti-loosening nylon ring of installation bolts for large gears are ageing cracking.
11. Crosshead guide plate clearance: left 0.7mm; medium 0.98mm; right 1.0 mm, need to
adjust.
12. The centrality of the center rod: 0.80 mm in the left; 2.65 mm in the middle; 2.5 mm in the
right, the centrality is extremely poor, and adjustment is needed.
13. When runs, the vibration is large.
