1. identify specific information by listening to 5 conversations;
2. review words related to family members;
3. build awareness of describing others with suitable words.

A. OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. revise the language items (words and structure about animals) in lesson 5.
2. identify specific information by reading a text about favourite pets;
3. write about their favourite pets;
4. build an awareness of showing respect for animals.
B. LANGUAGE FOCUS.
1. Key terms: cat, dog, rabbit, cute, friendly, soft.
2. Key grammatical structure
The sentence patterns:
- (Rabbits) are my favorite pets.

- Divide the class into groups of four, two students in each team.
- Have teams play rock, paper, scissors. The winning team goes forward two spaces and the
losing team goes forward one space.
- Have students match the symbol to the structure, ask and answer or practice (if the question or
answer is incorrect, that team move back one space).
- Swap roles and repeat until the game is finished. (Rock, paper, scissors is played each turn)
- Before the end of the lesson, check the answers as a whole class.
Activity 4: Point and say. (P. 41)
- Read the statements and give an example for each.
- In pairs, have students give a few more examples of each aim, then briefly practice.
- Ask students to color one, two or three stars, to show how well they can perform the tasks.
(3 stars = Great; 2 stars = Good; 1 star = Needs more study)
For students with two or fewer stars, recommend that they review the theme at home, or do the
Workbook or Activity Multi-ROM (if they have it)..
Activity 5: Wrap-up and Assignments.
- Ask students to answer the following questions:
1. What have you learnt from the lesson today?
( identify family members and describe people)
2. What’s are the core values of the lesson?
(Understand the family value and show respect for their pets.)

- T demonstrates the activity using the example.
- Students look at the pictures, read the questions then write the according answers.
- T divides the class into pairs and has them check the answers with each other.
- T checks answers as a whole class.
- T calls the pairs do the role play. Swap roles and repeat.
- Afterwards, some pairs demonstrate the role play in front of the class.

- Ask students to answer the following questions:
