By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. identify specific information by listening to 5 conversations;
2. review words related to family members;
3. build awareness of describing others with suitable words.

Activity 1: Warm-up
- Play a spelling game to revise the vocabulary from the previous lesson and warm up the class.
- Divide the class into two teams. Say an animal word from the list of new words. Choose a child
from Team A to spell the word, then a child from Team B. Each team gets a point for a correct
word.
Lead-in: “Today we will revise and practice tests.”
Activity 2: Listen and draw lines. (p.40)
CD1-Track 91:
- Have students call out the names and adjectives in this exercise.
- Encourage students to make a guess.
- Play example audio and demonstrate drawing lines from the names to the people.
- Play audio and have students draw lines.
- Play audio again.
- Play audio again and check answers as a whole class.

words in the spaces provided.

- Afterwards, have some students demonstrate spelling the words aloud in front of the class.

- Get students to match each word with its picture.

- Arrange the flashcards on the board, points to the flashcards and have students say along.
- Demonstrate the activity using the example.
- Students look at the pictures and complete the words.
- Divide the class into pairs and have them check the answers with each other.
- Check answers as a whole class.

Activity 1: Warm-up
- have Students play Kim’s game to revise the vocabs from lesson 1-5.

- Read lyrics as a whole class.
- Play audio and have students listen.
- Play audio again and have students listen and sing along.

Activity 3: Game: Play the board game. (P.41)

- Divide the class into groups of four, two students in each team.
- Have teams play rock, paper, scissors. The winning team goes forward two spaces and the
losing team goes forward one space.
- Have students match the symbol to the structure, ask and answer or practice (if the question or
answer is incorrect, that team move back one space).
- Swap roles and repeat until the game is finished. (Rock, paper, scissors is played each turn)
- Before the end of the lesson, check the answers as a whole class.
Activity 4: Point and say. (P. 41)
- Read the statements and give an example for each.
- In pairs, have students give a few more examples of each aim, then briefly practice.
- Ask students to color one, two or three stars, to show how well they can perform the tasks.
(3 stars = Great; 2 stars = Good; 1 star = Needs more study)
For students with two or fewer stars, recommend that they review the theme at home, or do the
Workbook or Activity Multi-ROM (if they have it)..
