1. TITLE

Procedure for the Installation of ESP.

1.1 Purpose

This method statement is issued to describe the work processes for the ESP installation. All
activities shall be completed in an efficient process and carried out in a safe and timely manner,
good working practices and in accordance with SAUDI ARAMCO Standards

1.2 Scope

The procedure shall apply for all the installation work under the contract# 66000339989 as
described in contract scope of work.

2. SAFETY

1. Construction contractor’s (Kentz) personnel involved in this job shall comply with all safety
requirements as per GI- 2.100.
2. Kentz shall secure the necessary work permits from AFK Field Services prior to start any
activities that are involved in this procedure.
3. Kentz shall Provide Fire Watch with necessary firefighting equipment in accordance with GI-
2.711 “Fire and Safety Watch” which include but not limited to fire extinguishers during various
activities.
4. All personnel working in this project from Saudi Aramco & construction contractor must know
exactly what to do during emergency where the assembly area shall be identified with a clear
sign board.
5. Kentz shall place warning signs that can be easily displayed across the job site and possible
access points to the site informing the personnel about the activity such as “Keep Away”.
6. All personnel working in this project shall wear the minimum required PPE (safety hat, steel
capped shoes, hand gloves, coverall and safety goggles, dust mask, face shield & ear plug).
7. Kentz shall assign certified, qualified and authorized personnel at job site to carry out
installation activities.
8. SAPMT& Kentz shall conduct Toolbox safety meeting prior to commencement of the works, to
which all safety procedures, hazards and controls shall be properly communicated and
understood to all personnel onsite.
9. SAPMT & Kentz shall ensure that all safety measures required during the project execution
phase are communicated properly to the whole execution crew.
10. Kentz & SAPMT Safety officers shall be present on-site for proper preparation & supervision of
the project ongoing activities.
11. Joint site inspection must be conducted by both work permit issuer & receiver prior to
commencing the work as per GI-2.100 “Work Permit System”.

12. SAPMT & Kentz shall ensure that all operators/craftsmen carry a valid license & must be
certified to operate the specific equipment/machinery that they are assigned to
operate/maintain.
13. SAMPT & Kentz shall ensure that all Equipment to be utilized, as applicable, shall be tested,
maintained & certified.

14. Work permit issuer & receiver shall ensure that all ignition sources that includes but not limited
to the vehicle shall be positioned far away from the activity location.
15. Kentz shall provide H2S gas detector to be utilized during the execution of the job to ensure no
presence of H2S or any other poisonous gases.
16. Kentz shall always maintain adequate/safe housekeeping of the job site .

5. PROCEDURE

1. All personnel shall wear minimum PPE (safety hat, safety Shoes, hand gloves and coverall).
2. Kentz shall assign certified, qualified and authorized personnel at job site.
3. SAPMT & Kentz shall ensure that all operators/craftsmen carry a valid license & must be
certified to operate the specific equipment/machinery that they are assigned to
operate/maintain.
4. SAMPT & Kentz shall ensure that all Equipment to be utilized, as applicable, shall be tested,
maintained & certified.
5. Joint site inspection must be conducted by both work permit issuer & receiver prior to
commencing the work as per GI-2.100 “Work Permit System”.
6. Ensure that all safety measures are in place and all equipment/tools to be used are available
specifically crane/telehandler.
7. Aramco certificated Operator and Riggers will be used, at all times for the duration of the work
activities.
8. All lifting tools shall be load tested and certificated prior to start any activities.
9. Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) prior to start of actual work.
10. Contractor shall arrange availability of material and machines; verify that all required inspection
documents available and correct.
11. Ensure work permit is acquired, before starting any work.
12. Inspection package shall be submitted to SAUDI ARAMCO Inspector for review and approval.

 EXCAVATION ALL DEPTHS:

a) All excavation for foundations and underground facilities shall be in accordance with
SAUDI ARAMCO Engineering Standards and shall be excavated to the level, and
depths specified in the project drawings.
b) Mark out area to be excavated.
c) Carry out scans of ground to check and locate live services. Care shall be taken to
avoid damage to existing underground facilities during excavation work.
d) Bring heavy machinery onto site following safety procedures listed above.
e) Where live services have been located machines must not dig. Hand dig around live
services where necessary using spade and shovel.
f) All excavations must be left safe at the end of each day.

 FOUNDTIONS & ESP SKID INSTALLATION:

a) Ensure that ESP foundation are installed as per design drawings

b) Prior to installation of ESP skid, verify location and orientation as per design& vendor
drawing.
c) Install ESP skid in the designated foundation as per design and vendor drawings.
d) Approximate weight of the lifting chain slings shall be 450kgs & 6mtr length, and spreader
beam 4.3mtr length as per vendor Lifting Arrangement Drawing.

 Cables & Conduits:

a) All cable and conduit installation shall be in accordance with SAUDI ARAMCO Engineering
Standard.
b) Install and terminate ESP surface equipment cables as shown in the project drawings.
c) Ensure to install ESP Motor as shown in instrument mounting details and cable routing
plan.
d) Ensure to wire the ESP Motor to the RTU in accordance Instrument Loop Diagram and as
instrument cable routing plan.
e) Ensure full cable run shall be continuous from Electrical Mounting Rack panel to ESP
surface equipment skid without the intervention of any through-joints and should be tagged
with the cable identification number at both ends.
f) Ensure and extend all required precautions required to separate/isolate DC instrument
ground conductors from AC ground conductors.
g) Underground electric cable/conduit shall be installed and marked in accordance with
SAUDI ARAMCO Standards.
h) All conduits leaving electrical enclosures, following cables installation shall be sealed with
duct seal or equivalent.
i) Pulling compound shall be used during cable pulling.
j) Conduit ends must be reamed after cutting with bushing installed at the end of the conduit.
k) Ensure all underground cable have marker posts with standard sign.

 MATERIALS CONTROL:

a) Equipment shall be inspected when it arrives. Ensure the equipment conforms to project
specifications and applicable CLIENT standards.
b) Ensure equipment are free from damage. Any damage noted shall be identified on the Over
Short & Damage Report (OS&D Report) as per WP-104.
c) ESP SKID Equipment shall be hauled, transported and unloaded to job site on a safe and
most efficient manner.
d) Upon receipt at the storage and handling area, the equipment will be inspected for
mechanical damage.

e) Check that all supplied items associated & components set are in conformance with the
purchase order and specification data sheets.
f) Store all associated components on dust free area and protect them against mechanical
damage and dirt.

7. INSPECTION & RECORDS

Quality control Inspectors will conduct necessary inspections as per the applicable Saudi Aramco
