MEDICAL GRAND CHALLENGE 2020
OUTLINE
In 2020, the Medical Grand Challenge organised a total of six workshops for our participating teams.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 situation, all workshops since Workshop 2 were moved online, and
planned excursions for participants were postponed indefinitely. Despite the unforeseen circumstances,
MGC explored the use of video-conferencing platforms to facilitate insightful discussions on various
topics regarding medical innovation.
WORKSHOP 2: STARBURST
An online workshop which introduced the Business Model Canvas (BMC) as a useful
framework for participating teams to improve on their ideas.
Our first online webinar, featuring a Fireside Chat on the topic "Change management for
health innovation: operationalising validated medical solutions and achieving
stakeholder buy-in". Members of the public were invited.
Our second online webinar, with a panel discussion on how to pitch effectively, and
demonstrations by invited startups. Members of the public were invited.
Participating teams presented their projects to MGC advisors and practised answering
questions in preparation for Finale Night.
