An Update
The Sri Sathya Sai Sarla Memorial Hospital, a health care initiative by Prashanthi Balamandira
Trust, is a multi-disciplinary hospital established at Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli, in the
district of Chikkaballapur, Karnataka in South India. The main objective of the Hospital is to
make quality healthcare accessible for all, without any barriers, absolutely free of cost. The
hospital is gearing up to rise to the occasion of pandemic and is destined to become a temple
of healing for the rural people of Karnataka in coming days. Here is brief progress update of this
journey.

“You can do things I cannot, I can do things you cannot; together we can do great things,”
- Mother Teresa.
The Sri Sathya Sai Sarla Memorial Hospital is a standing testimony to this statement.

(From 1st September)

In a short span of 6 months, the hospital was built from the scratch and has been up and
running since the 27th of August 2021, the day it was dedicated in service to the nation. The
main objective of the Hospital is to make quality healthcare accessible for all, absolutely free
of cost and accordingly, to date, there have been more than 3000 out-patients who have been
tended to and cared for!

During the 96th birthday celebrations of our inspiration, Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, on the 23rd
of Nov 2021, the hospital successfully mended 23 little hearts granting them a new lease of life
and infusing in them a new beat of hope. The very first surgery was scheduled for the 15th of Nov
which was successfully completed in collaboration with the exceptional team of doctors, surgeons
and other medical staff from the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals.

Collaboration with the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals
It is said “we may not have it all together, but together we have it all,” and when the combined efforts
of so many individuals from various fields come together, little hearts get mended! The Sri Sathya Sai
Sanjeevani Hospitals provided us with a team of 15 professionals which included paediatric surgeons,
ICU nurses, perfusionists, anaesthetists and counsellors.

On the 22nd of November, the eve of Bhagwan Baba’s birthday, these children were presented the
momentous ‘Chiranjeevi Bhava - Gift of Life Certificate’ by Dr K Sudhakar, Minister of Health and Family
Welfare, Karnataka, in the divine presence of Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai.

On the auspicious day of 23rd November, two new lives were born in Sri Sathya Sai Sarla Memorial
Hospital. One was a boy and another, a girl!

Testimonial

I’m an alumnus of Sri Sathya Sai Institutions. Back in school when everybody
spoke of Swami’s compassion, even I did, but that was just a repetition with-
out any experience. Recently, my brother got diagnosed with a congenial heart
disease and on enquiring, the doctors said that it would cost at least around
10 lakhs for the surgery. With the financial condition of the house that we
have, it was no way possible for us to arrange such a huge amount! Through
my social circle I got to know about the Sri Sathya Sai Sarla Memorial Hospital
and that the surgeries were taken care by Swami completely free of cost. The
very next day I spoke to the doctors here and they got my brother admitted. To
the utter surprise of my parents, now my brother is operated completely free
of cost and that too with the best facilities. Not a single day passes without
Shiva Shankar thanking Swami for everything that he has done for us.

OUR GRATITUDE
Dear ones, all other things with time will fade away. In a minute, time will take away everything
that we have. But this one alone will live forever – the love that you have for God and the love
that God has for you.
- Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai

We thank you for your continued support and prayers.
