From your nearby surroundings, search three objects of spherical shape,
cylindrical shape and hemispherical shape.

1. Find the surface area and volume of each shape.

2. Deduce the relation between each shape.
3. Explain in a writeup how these shapes are useful in our daily life.
4. Paste some pictures of shapes you have chosen...
5. Begin the assignment with introduction.
6. Formula used must be clearly mentioned.
7. Conclusion should include your understanding of the assignment.

Introduction:

I was assigned by my math teacher to calculate the volume and surface area of three
spherical, hemispherical and cylindrical objects around me using the respective formulas.
The value of pi π is 3.14 or 22/7

To calculate the volume of spherical objects the following formula shall be used,
4/3 x pi x radius^3

To calculate the surface area of spherical objects the following formula shall be used,
4 x pi x radius^2

To calculate the volume of hemispherical objects the following formula shall be used,
2/3 x pi x radius^3

To calculate the surface area of hemispherical objects the following formula shall be used,
2 x pi x radius^2

To calculate the volume of cylindrical objects the following formula shall be used,
radius^2 x pi x height

To calculate the surface area of cylindrical objects the following formula shall be used,
2 x pi x radius x height + 2 x pi x radius^2

Uses of these shapes in real-life:

Spheres: Prefabrication in building / Globes / Balls
Hemispheres: Northern and Southern Hemispheres of the Earth
Cylinders: Soup Cans / Pipes / Test tubes / Bottles / Pens

Spherical Shapes:

Surface Area = 4πr^2

Radius = 12 cm
4 x 3.14 x 12^2
= 576 (3.14)
= 1,808.64

Volume = 4/3πr^3
Radius = 12 cm
4/3 x 3.14 x 12^3
