CLUSTER PRESS CONFERENCE 2018

In preparation for the Division Press Conference 2018, the Cluster III held
their Clusters Schools Press Con at Navera Memorial National High School,
September 6-7, 2018.

The participating schools in the said event were the eight schools of Cluster
III, namely Sta Rita National High School, Talumpok NHS, Libjo NHS, Navera
NHS, Tinga Soro- Soro Ibaba NHS, Alangilan Senior High School, Banaba West
NHS, and Balete Integrated School.

The program started with a prayer followed by a nationalistic song. The

presentation of the participants was given by one of the School Paper adviser of
Banaba West National High School. All the participants of each school prepared
their yell and gave the number of their participants.

Mrs. Vicky Pagcaliwagan, Principal III at Navera National High School gave
her welcome remarks and wholeheartedly welcomed all the guests and
participants.

Mrs. Teresita C. Magpantay, Principal III at Banaba National High School as

the Cluster Head inspired and challenged everyone to do their best in the field of
journalism.

The Press Con will not be possible without the help of the speakers and
trainors. All the speakers were introduced by Mrs. Marites Hernandez Teacher III
at Balete Integrated School.

After that, the campus journalists started their lecture on every category with
the assigned trainers and facilitators. For the individual category, we have news
writing, editorial writing, feature writing, science writing, editorial cartooning, copy
reading and headline writing and the photo journalism.
While the group category we have radio broadcasting and script writing and
the desktop collaborative writing.

After a one-day training all the campus journalists showed their wit and skills
in writing. Each category was given a specific topic or issue to fonder on. While
the group contest should have their own contest piece.

The top ten winners received a certificate of recognition. Also in the group
contest category the radio broadcasting and desktop collaborative writing.

All of the participants were fulfilled and satisfied of their experience. They
only not learned from the speakers and trainers but they also gathered another
set of friendship. They honed something in the field of journalism that will serve
as their weapon to fight another battle, the Division Press Con.

Despite of bad weather condition the PSDS in English and Filipino, Mrs.
Esperanza Luzanta and Mrs. Ederlinda Lontok witnessed the awarding
ceremony of Clusters III together the supportive principals of each participating
schools. According to them, “Winners never quit and quitters never win”.
