REFERENCE: B056-17 Unit #10 Hot Gas Path Inspection and Service Bulletin Application
for an LM6000 Sprint Gas Turbine
This Addendum forms part of the contract and clarifies, corrects or modifies original bid
document.
Clarification: BPUB is requesting bids for a Standard G42 Combustion work as well as other
work necessitated by the required scope utilized in applying the specified service bulletins. BPUB,
as an option and in consideration of each proposal received, may select a G48 combustor upgrade,
if so proposed. Otherwise, BPUB prefers to have its original engine, key components serviced,
overhauled, refurbished, etc. and returned to BPUB for continued operation through to the next
major maintenance inspection interval. However, given it has become a standard practice by the
industry to exchange key components with readily available “Rotable “modules or assemblies,
BPUB will accept these exchanges if the Rotable modules or assemblies are fully serviced,
overhauled, refurbished, etc. for continued operation through to the next major maintenance
inspection interval and incorporate the latest OEM service or product bulletins.
Correction/Revisions:
Page 16, COST SHEET B056-17, Line Item 3; delete the words “hot section” and delete the
parenthesis around the words “HPT rotor, Stage 1 & 2 nozzle assemblies”.
Page 13, Compressor Service Bulletin Upgrade, Table Bulletin Number “LM6000-IND-210”
should read “LM6000-IND-213”.
Question 1: Can you confirm the Engine Serial Number (ESN) and total hours of running time
on the engine since New, and operating hours since last Hot Section (or major engine) Service?
Answer 1:
Engine Serial Number (ESN): 191-463
Total Run Time Hours Since Commissioned: 16,515
Total Starts since Commissioned: 2,150
Total Successful Starts since Commissioned: 2,109
First Hot Section Inspection: Never
First High Pressure Turbine Repair: Never
Question 2: Can BPUB provide a copy of the latest Borescope Inspection of the HPT
Module? (detailing the current condition of Airfoils, Shrouds, etc.)
Answer 2: Yes, please see attached Borescope Inspection report (sent as a separate file).
Question 3: The bid work scope requests as an OPTION, a G48 Rad-Rad Combustor and
compatible Fuel Nozzles. Does BPUB wish for the currently installed Combustor operating in
the LM6000PC to be Overhauled and/or Exchanged as part of the HPT Module Overhaul and/or
Exchange work scope if the RAD-RAD Option is not chosen by BPUB?
Answer 3: Yes
Question 4: What model Combustor is currently installed and operating in the LM6000PC engine?
G39, G42, etc.?
Answer 4: The part number for the combustor currently installed is: P/N: 9373M89G35.
Question 5: What Part Number Fuel Nozzles are currently installed and operating in the engine
with the current Combustor?
Answer 5: The part number for the fuel nozzles currently installed are: P/N: L31476P57 (13),
P/N: L31476P48 (13) & P/N: L31476P61 (4).
Question 6: The provided Pricing Sheet shows “Total Prices” at the bottom section, of which one
of the requested totals excludes the Field Service Line Item 2 and the Overhaul of the HPT in Line
Item 3. Is this an error, or is it intended that these two Line Items are to be covered as a combined
portion of Line Item 1 or in some other format?
Answer 6: Correction: For standard G42 Combustor work, Line items 1-3 & 6-20 should be
totaled. If the seller is proposing a G48 upgrade 1-5 & 6-20 should be filled in and totaled, where
Line Item 4 is the difference in price between the G42 and G48 combustor. It should also be noted
that the material price for the hot section service bulletins are not included in line item 1 and should
be relegated to the respective costs for the combustor type in Line items 1 and/or 4.
Question 7: What price is BPUB anticipating to be included in Line Item 1 of the Pricing Table?
Answer 7: As explained above, standard G42 combustor work and the latest service bulletins, if
any.
Question 8: It is assumed by MTU that the Line Item 5 Fuel Nozzles are RAD-RAD Compliant
Nozzles only, and would be part of the Line Item 4 Option as a combined program. Is this a correct
statement?
Answer 8: Line Item 4 includes a set of Rad-Rad compliant nozzles. Line Item 5 refers to an
exchange option for our existing spare nozzles we have in stock -- (31) New P/N: L31476P57 and
(5) Refurbished P/N: L31476P61.
Question 9: I am assuming the GT ESN is 191-463?
Answer 9: Correct, see answer to Question 1 above.
