Course Number : MGT 615

Course Title : Computer Application in Business

Course Description : This course introduces and develops foundational skills in applying essential
and emerging business productivity information technology tools. The main
focus of this course is on business applications and productivity softwares,
including software applications, word processing, spreadsheets, databases,
presentation graphics, data analytics and business-oriented utilization of the
Internet. Laboratory experience includes word processing, spreadsheets,
presentation software and databases.

Credit Unit/s : 3 units

Credit Hours : 1 hour lecture/ 2 hours lab

Course Outcomes:

After completing this course, the student must be able to:

1. Define relevant terms in computer applications in business.
2. Use various application softwares to prepare word documents and manipulate data on spreadsheets and databases.
3. Apply graphical tools and designs to better present data.
4. Discuss emerging business productivity tools.
5. Apply concepts to prepare business model canvass and presentation of a pitch deck.
