(a)137 mL (b)13.7 mL (c)27.3 mL (d)12.7 mL
Ans. (b)
Sol. No. of milli equivalent = Normality ×Vml
3.17 = 0.232×Vml

6. 1L solution of NaOH contains 4.0 g of it. What shall be the difference between molarity
and the normality ?
(a) 0.10 (b) zero (c) 0.05 (d) 0.20
Ans. (b)
Sol. Normality = Valency factor × Molarity
For NaOH, valency factor = 1
For NaOH, Normality = Molarity
7. 100 ml of 0.3 N HCl is mixed with 200 ml of 0.6 N H2SO4. The final normality of the

(a) 0.1 N (b) 0.2 N (c) 0.3 N (d) 0.4 N
Ans. (d)
Sol. M eq. of HCl = 1 × 30 = 30
M eq. of H2SO4 = 0.6× 200 = 120

10. 25 mL of a solution of Ba(OH)2 on titration with a 0.1 M solution of HCl gave a titre value
of 35 mL. The molarity of barium hydroxide solution was
(a) 0.07 (b) 0.14 (c) 0.28 (d) 0.35
Ans. (a)
Sol. As law of chemical equivalence, [LOCE]
(N ×V)Acid = (N × V)Base
Normality of HCl =Molarity × h'-factor
=0.1Acid 1 = 0.1 N
Normality of Ba(OH)2 =Molarity × 'n'-factor =M × 2
Thus, applying LOCE
(N V) HCl  (N V) Ba (OH)2
 0.1 × 35=M × 2 × 25
Molarity of Ba(OH)2 =0.07M
