WHAT I HAVE LEARNED

1. Quantitative research uses scientifically collected and statistically
analyzed data to investigate observable phenomena.
2. Quantitative research has a large sample size and is objective. It also
delivers accurate data and employs quick data analysis.
3. Quantitative research has a number of advantages, including
replicability, which ensures that the findings are valid and reliable. Results
are predictable when numerical and quantitative data is used, which aids
in predicting the effectiveness of your research.
4. Using quantitative research has a number of drawbacks. Its lack of
adaptability is one of its key flaws, which implies it has a wider margin of
error. Furthermore, doing this type of study takes time and money.
5. A. Descriptive Design - This technique is used to simply describe an
occurrence through observation. "Determination of the Different Types of
Physical Activities and How Frequently High School Students Do Them
During the Quarantine Period," for example.
B. Correlational Design - it's utilized to figure out how two or more variables
are related. "The Relationship between Physical Activity and Student
Academic Achievement," for example.
C. Ex post facto Design - this method is used to look into the possibility of a
link between past occurrences and current conditions. "What Effects Does
Teacher Gender Have on Student Behavior?" is an example.
D. Quasi-Experimental Design - This method is used to determine the
cause-and-effect relationship between variables without using random
selection. "How the Magna Carta Changed England," for example.
E. Experimental Design - is used to determine whether two or more
variables have a cause-and-effect connection. "The Effects of Wearing
Face Masks in Preventing Covid-19 Infection," for example.

In most fields, quantitative research is both useful and necessary. It

is significant in the fields of education and political science since it aids in the
discovery of the most effective teaching and governance methods. Research is
critical in engineering and architecture courses since it can lead to the
development of new technology and abilities. Furthermore, because of today's
modernity, it is equally critical to information technology. Finally, it is essential to
medicine since it assists doctors and medical practitioners in synthesizing and
developing novel treatments.

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED

A. How is quantitative research relevant to different discipline?
- Quantitative research offers great objectivity in terms of goals and
outcomes, as well as credibility and reliability. Quantitative research is
useful to a variety of areas because of its methodical approach and
statistical data analysis. It has a tiny margin of error, which is ideal for
such professional domains. Quantitative research has even helped to
pave the road for new technologies and breakthroughs. These fields
would be a shambles without it.
B. Briefly explain the importance or contribution of quantitative research to
each of the following fields of study.
Field Importance / Contribution
Natural and Physical Science Natural and physical science aims to
find natural solutions to everyday
problems. You can get the most out
of previous therapy by improving their
outcomes. It's critical in this industry
because it requires a lot of trial and
error.
Education Finding new teaching tactics that
allow students to learn as much as
possible. It also aids in determining the
most effective methods for mentoring
and ensuring the success of students.
Sports Helps better the performance of
athletes by their dietary plans and
training schedules. Athletes are
taught the optimal nutrition and
workout for their demands as well as
the sport's standards.
Arts and Design Assists artists in honing their talents
and techniques. Aids in the discovery
of the relationship between art and
particular human behaviors, as well as
how it influences them.
Agriculture and Fisheries The production of Genetically
Modified Organisms are brought by
quantitative research as well as
farming technologies. Quantitative
research also contributed to the
combat of the effects of climate
change on this field.
Information and Communication Quantitative research aided
Technology professionals and students in their use
of ICT. It also aided in the effective
integration of ICT use in higher
education.
Social Science As a result of the solutions supplied by
research, there have been gains in
social harmony. The more research
done on societal issues, the better the
solutions will be.
Business and Accounting Quantitative research is particularly
essential in the world of business and
accounting since it employs
mathematical analysis to analyze
crucial facts about a company's
market.

Activity 4: Let’s Go Online

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED
1. Dependent and independent variables can both be quantitative and
qualitative factors. Qualitative variables are descriptive values made up
of letters, whereas quantitative variables are numerical values that can
be counted or quantified.
2. In a descriptive study, all that is done is observation and analysis. As a
result, dependent and independent variables are unnecessary because
they are solely used to manipulate data and anticipate outcomes.
3. To completely comprehend the research and interpret data accurately,
researchers must first define the sorts of variables employed in the study.
4. Confounding variables are a pain in the neck for researchers. Because
you didn't incorporate these variables in your article, the outcome you
were hoping for will be different. These confounding variables are not
supported by the facts you're using to back up your claims.
5. For values that are whole numbers, we use discrete. For fractional values,
keep it continuous. Nominal for descriptive values that aren't the same as
one another. Ordinal for descriptive values that differ from each other.
