1 Prerequisites
1.1 General information
All following instructions are only applicable for GSE/Tool P/N 98F29103500000.
This GSE/Tool User Guide must be read in conjunction with the appropriate Aircraft
documentation.
In case of conflicting documents please contact AIRBUS.
Before using or mounting the GSE/Tool, read this GSE/Tool User Guide carefully and
ensure that all content is well understood. Non-compliance with the instructions can
lead to personal injury or material damage and excludes any warranty.

2 GSE/Tool setup
2.1 Before use
Check that the various parts of the tool are in good condition.
Check the validity of the last conformity inspection.
Read the installation instructions given below.
If applicable, check the firmness of the bearing or mooring points.

The tool must be used by individuals qualified in aircraft maintenance and trained for
tool manipulation.

Utilization of the tool only in day light or in a good quality artificial light.
The operator must be found in a comfortable stable position during the manip-
ulations.
To be particularly cautious when manipulating in altitude.
Before any utilization, the operator must check that the tool components do
not present deformations or cuts.
Before any utilization, the operator must check that the nuts and bolts are cor-
rectly tighten.
The tool must be in warranty period.
Tool 98 F12303500 000 can be used only for fill the nitrogen unit of the A340 aircraft .
Servicing and maintenance. Any other use will be considered as incorrect.
Hose Lg10m
Unroll the hose Lg10m taking care to avoid loops that can create one or more
folds.
Check if the paths of the hoses do not pose any risk of crushing or pinching
who can cause a cut or sectioning of the hose.
Unscrew the protective cap on the accumulator.
Check if the valves for pressurizing and purging of the inflation block

Adapter
Open the nitrogen bottle and control the outlet pressure, adjust if necessary.
Slowly open the valve set pressure.
Fill the accumulator following the AMM current procedure.
Close the valve set pressure and the nitrogen bottle.
Drain the hose connected to the accumulator by opening the drain valve.
Disconnect the adapter from the valve of the accumulator.
Position the protection cap on the accumulator.
Drain the hose.
Remove the carabiner.
Remove the valve/gage assy from the nitrogen bottle.
Store in the case.

AIRBUS recommends that following test must be performed every 12 months in
agreement with French legislation:
If the frequency of the tests under load is more stringent in the country where the tool
is used, AIRBUS recommends that the user comply with the frequency given for the
test under load in the country where the tool is used.

4 Handling / Storage
A. Handling
Handling of case
The storage case with or without equipment is handled manually, the nitrogen bottle
is not stored in the case.
Handling of parts
All parts are handled manually.
B. Storage
Before storing, refer to ‘Packing checklist’ (chapter 2.3) in order to verify the
availability of all items which shall be part of the GSE/Tool P/N 98F29103500000.
When not in use, the tool must be stored in the crate provided for this purpose in a
clean place to avoid damage due to the following risks :
Chemical: oxidization due to humidity resulting from :
Rain (water falling directly onto the crate).
Condensation (by variations in the relative humidity of the air due to tempera-
ture variations).
Mechanical: surface accident, breakage
6 End of life
If the GSE/ Tool is out of order, worn or liable to provoke damages, the user shall
ensure that it is scrapped.
WARNING
To be compliant with regulation 2012/19/EC - Do not dispose Electric
and Electronic Equipment waste and collect them separately
