Dear Mr. Copeland

My name is Jordan Alkaabi. I am a business teacher at Forrest City High School. I am writing this letter
to express my interest in becoming a community outreach coordinator. I am eager to become a part of
the EACC family, and I believe that my work ethic, experience, and knowledge make me an ideal
candidate for this position.

As a CTE teacher and a mentor, coordinating with EACC to make my students at FCHS earn college
credit was a highlight of my career. In 2018, I volunteered to mentor children at the Common Good
Community Development Project in underdeveloped areas of Lexington, Kentucky, including African
refugees and Latino Immigrants. This mentorship opportunity taught me that these children had the soft
and hard skills required to succeed in college, but they lacked the methods and inspiration to pursue a
college education. If I become a community outreach coordinator, I want to provide our future leaders
with the opportunity to prosper and get the education that they deserve.

Furthermore, I am a recent graduate with a master’s degree in international affairs and business from
Penn State University. Some highlights of my achievements include working as public relations intern
for Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and the Milwaukee brewers. I also completed a business
administration and communication degree at the University of Kentucky. Other highlights of my work
experience include:

● Worked over 80 hours in volunteer service, which include building houses for the homeless,
helping over 30 children under poverty earn a college education, and working for Ronald
Mcdonald House of Charity.
● Taught over 90 students about professionalism, building resumes, cover letters, professional
emails, and passing job interviews
● Increased the Milwaukee Brewers customer retention rate by at least 10% by introducing a
platform that helped the stadium analyze their customers and increase their engagement.
● I am familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Powerpoint, G-suit, Canva, and Open Shot.

I am extremely passionate about public relations, and I love engaging with my surrounding community.
I used to hold a PR position in both my fraternities: Delta Upsilon and Alpha Kappa Psi. I created an
ePortfolio for the latter that helped them track their newest recruits and achievements. I believe that the
current pandemic extended the tasks of an education community outreach coordinator beyond the local
communities. I want to ensure that the EACC brand is well known locally and globally. Online
education could go beyond physical spaces and so does public relations.

I am extremely eager for this opportunity. My email is the best way to reach me which is
alkaabi.ah6@gmail.com. I am also available every weekday from 12:50 to 1:25 pm and all day after
3:45 pm. My phone number is (870)877-1938. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Jordan Alkaabi
