Installation Manual E Binding Strap for Fiber Jumpers
This chapter introduces the structure and usage of the binding strap, as well as
precautions for bundling fiber jumpers.
This chapter has the following contents:

The binding strap for fiber jumpers is 12.7 mm wide, with one hook side (transparent
polypropylene material) and one mat side (black nylon material). With the two sides,
the binding strap fulfills its locking function, as shown in Figure E-1.

Note:
You can use a pair of scissors if there is no cutterbar on site.
Step Action
1 Install the binding strap on the plastic axis of the cutterbar, as shown in
Figure E-2.
2 Roll the binding strap and make it pass through the guiding trough of the
cutterbar. Cut the binding strap into appropriate length at the cutter tooth of
the cutterbar by hauling the binding strap slantwise, as shown in Figure
E-3.

2 Hold the fiber bundle with one hand and press one end of the binding strap
on the bundle with the thumb. Strain the binding strap by the other end with
the other hand, as shown in Figure E-4.
3 Turn the binding strap around the fiber bundle with appropriate force till the
mat side adhibits the hook side snugly, as shown in Figure E-5.

Figure E-6 shows the expected result of the bundled fiber jumpers.
E.2.3 Precausions
It is only the mat side, not the hook side, of the binding strap contacts the fiber
jumpers.
Arrange the fiber jumpers tidily into a bundle before bundling them.
Bundle the fiber jumpers with appropriate tightness. Do not bind them too tight.

The spacing between two binding straps should not exceed 40 cm.
Do not bundle too many fiber jumpers together at a time. For 2 mm fiber jumpers,
100 pieces at most can be bound together. For 3 mm ones, 60 pieces at most can
be bound together. If there are a large number of fiber jumpers, bind them into
several bundles.
